I dont think anyone really needs educated on the fact of smoking being bad for us. Tobacco is bad and i am really glad this generation is mostly avoiding it. Personally i have no issues with people smoking. I know more people who have had cancer or have health problems that dont smoke or have never smoked, than people who do smoke. Im not saying this is the same for other people. Smoking has been on decrease for the last 20yrs but health issues are not really decreasing. There are plenty of other things we expose ourselves to that are harmful to us. What we eat is not very good and full of added things that aren't good for us. Even walking down the street is full of exposure. We don't fully understand what all signals being emitted everywhere are doing to us and we are more than happy to expose ourselves to them. The world is going to become very boring place if all things that makes you happy or content are disallowed or frowned upon. I stopped going to the pub not long after smoking indoors was banned. The liveliness disappeared and you ended up with people standing outside in an awkward silence. There has probably been a massive increase in depression, as a lot of heavy drinkers who smoke and lonely people who smoke disappeared into there own homes, no longer socialising with people as much. Due to the decreasing number of patrons pubs in my area had to increase prices and most eventually closed doors. Sorry for the rant, was not intended. Top and bottom, smoking not good. (But not evil)
