I've been smoking for 10 years sincerely I see that I spend a lot on cigarettes and it reduces my performance has evolved from one I always find myself tight in my bankroll plus I can't play solid during tournaments I can no longer find the patience to reach the paid places.

Think of the money you would save if you quit - not to mention the years you would add to your life. I know it is easier said than done but I also know plenty of people who have quit successfully. My husband smoked for about 15 years and quit. Fortunately before I met him because I would have never married a smoker again.

I don’t think that smoking directly affects the results of your game, but it definitely has a negative effect on your health!!!

I don't think that it has any effect at all on my poker, both online and live. In fact it might even help with live because I get to meet a lot of the other players and talk a bit in the smoking areas during breaks. I really enjoy that and it makes me a happier and more content player when I head back to the tournament table. :)

It affects your game when you are dead or suffering from chemo and radiation.

I think Debi's comments says it all but i would like to add yes I do think it could affect your game. I know many who do smoke and I have seen them miss hands many time over needing that smoke or worse making a mistake just before the break so they can run out for that smoke.

The only effect I'd say it would have is if you were a smoker and then tried to quit. Smoking like many other things in our life is an addiction and it takes a mental toll on the one that tries to remove such addictions from their life. I'd recon that you wouldn't be able to play at your 100% while in that state and would be advised to first handle that and then return to the tables.

Being smoker and continue being one.. I don't really see the effect it would have on your game to be honest. If anything there is just effect on your wallet and health.

Smoking don't impact your poker results, but smoking cause long-term negative effects on the body, including heart disease, cancer, and diabetes and also affects your pockets, for better life we should stop smoking

I also smoke at least two packs a day, it's not commendable. If you feel the need to smoke, light one 😉, don't look where you shouldn't for bad decisions!
Look, now I'm smoking one next to a glass of strength and I'm going to bed in peace because I had a productive day in my life; at the Cardschat freerolls maybe another time 👍

Weak people xD
I smoke since 16 years sadly but have no problem waiting for a break to have a fag.
Although sometimes I go for a smoke after a bad beat which is actually beneficial for calming down

Smoked for most of 20 years myself & never felt the need to justify why to anyone so whatever reason/excuse you wish to use is fine. I don't allow anyone to smoke in my home or automobile but I frequent restaurants or casinos based on the quality of the experience or food they offer & have no interest in the reason(s)/excuses for their smoking policy. I'm not 14 either. ;)

Isn't it normal in USA that you are not allowed to smoke inside?
Hate that too btw. Whenever I played livegames some years ago , clothes always reeked of smoke 🙄 (despite nationwide ban of smoking inside)

The casino I frequent still allows smoking, I have been asked in at least a few restaurants if I wished to be seated in the smoking or non smoking section. I gave up bars while I was married & raising kids & never got back in the habit so don't know how restrictive policies are. Seems like most places, hospitals, governmental offices, (federal & state) tend to ban it & may or may not have outside smoking areas set aside.Like most things governmental I assume that SNAFU would be the normal. :)

I believe that smoking does not affect your game in this great sport, but we must be aware that to become a competent player you have to work hard on the discipline part of the player, that's why you should keep that in mind.

Well, I don't advise anyone, but I love this stuff.🙊💩
20 years of smoking and it definitely affects my game. There is no problem when cigarettes are nearby, but I can't concentrate when they are not.
I always try to make sure that I have cigarettes, but if I haven't bought them and I see that they are running out, I am more distracted, trying to smoke less often and counting how many cigarettes are left.
In fact, it's not just about poker. When I write or study something, I smoke a lot. If I ask my family to buy me more cigarettes than usual, they immediately have a question: do you need to write something today... because everyone has known for a long time that I smoke a hell of a lot in the process of writing material.

Although, recently I played in an unusual place for myself, where it was impossible to smoke, and I even managed to win that tournament.
Maybe because it didn't bother me that I didn't have cigarettes-I had them, but I just couldn't smoke.

I also smoke and have smoked for over 25 years. This foolish habit caused irreparable damage to my health, but I could not find the strength to quit smoking. During tournaments, I only smoke during breaks, 5 minutes is more than enough for me.
