I don't think you'll have a problem for the first 90 day stay, but if you go out for a couple of weeks then come right back in I think that may be enough to red-flag you at Immigration for further questioning after the first couple of times. They're going to ask why you're entering, what do you plan on doing, how you are going to support yourself, etc. etc. etc.

Also, better make sure you are able to rent an apartment for only 90 days if you plan to stay only that long and give it a shot. I don't know what the rental market is like in LV right now, but if it's a landlord's market, many properties will be requiring 6 month leases minimum. Short term tenancies are frowned upon because of the extra costs in cleaning and re-renting the unit. The units that rent month to month might not be in neighborhoods where you want to carry more than a couple of bucks in your pocket or go out after dark.

Gl with this endeavour ,one quick thought on the taxation of winnings ,I was under the impression the casinos hold back 30% of your winnings anyway .Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I thought this was for the IRS.........scorp

It's only for over a certain amount. I can't remember what that is though. Have no idea how it works for non-citizens.

I thought that was for tournaments only (for poker anyways) since in cash games they don't know how many bullets you fired or you could just cash out below the limit at different cashiers or even cash out some and come back later

Just for all that is thinking I am not a beginner i assure you and i will be going out to play $1/$1 and $1/$2 to start with so i will be at the lowest end of the cash games playing with the smallest amount of grinders and the worst players in the game known as the walk ins...

As for bankroll i would take with me enough for my rent for the 90 days then what i would imagine to be enough for food and drink then i would take 30-35 buy ins for my level.

Propane Goat thank you for your response, i may have to go for 90 days come back go somewhere in Europe for 2/3 months then go back to Vegas do it that way!

There are a few places in Vegas that will rent to me on a monthly basis, is is quite a unique place not too many people stay for too long... (the people playing slots, roulette and blackjack)

He can't do that. You have to be a legal resident for 10 years before you can even try to become a citizen.

If you enter the United States on a visa waiver, your maximum stay will be 90 days. With a B-2 tourist visa, by contrast, you will normally be allowed to stay for up to six months.

This is from a US Immigration site. Look into a B-2 tourist visa. Just google it.

They come here and work for a company that sponsors them on a work Visa or they marry a US citizen and get a green card.

He would never qualify for a tourist visa - they are extremely hard to get from England and he would have to lie about why he was coming and would never get past 1st base after doing that.

As long as your job is not important or very good and you are young and it will be easy to start over - coming over for 90 days is not the worst idea ever.

But don't give up a good job to do it and make sure you will have the resources when you return home to start over.

How do i become a Citizen without getting married or having a job?

If you are traveling to the United States as a tourist, you will require a valid B-2 visa. That is unless you are eligible to travel visa free under the Visa Waiver Program, or you are a national of a country which has an agreement with the United States allowing their citizens to travel to the United States without B-2 visas.

Apparently you only get that if i can't get the Visa Waiver which i can!

What qualifies you for a Visa Waiver?

I have had a lot of experience with this stuff - my husband moved here from England before we got married. Also we had friends living here from Ireland who were not married. And Joe has worked for both a Danish and a Dutch company since moving here so we know plenty of people who have traveled to work here from other countries.

The fact i am from the UK and i don't have a criminal record or anything of that sort and it says i am eligible to stay for up to 90 days at a time for Business or Pleasure but to to work basically...

How were they living there then? Were they working in America therefor was able to get a green card or Visa or whatever it is that way?

any information is greatly appreciated and i am thankful for it.
