The Best Poker TV Shows Ever Made

High Stakes Poker this is one of my favorite poker shows on TV from an entertainment standpoint, I want to finish all the episodes to watch after I start with Poker After

Dark.I've been able to watch a few episodes of these TV series, but I want to look at them from the beginning to the end, and I'll take them as follows: High Stakes Poker, Poker After Dark, European Poker Tour, Aussie Millions , Super High Roller Bowl, Poker Night in America.

That's my list, what are you watching? Or better say, where did you have the most to learn? Depending on the games you play.

My Opinion

I don't watch much poker. How many times out of a 1000 should I win. I don't read much cardchat either. I just pay the percentages and odds. Should be worth some wins in poker. I guess if your telling the truth its like 100 out of 1000 times placing. While I am at 25 out of 1000 placing. We need some cat math to get the exact number of wins. You also have to figure in the new poker player that hasn't started the poker studies yet. They should win 5 out of a 1000. A good project for you to do. This is out of my league. Maybe it gets you 150 wins out of a 1000. That is how much you place.

Salutari andrei ! Beside the shows you mentioned i watch a lot of streamers playing poker cuz it helps a lot !

My favorite to watch was Poker After Dark (the original, I haven't seen the new ones yet).

I loved the whole concept of it and how it was laid out. I thought High Stakes Poker was good, but it didn't have the quality and production that Poker After Dark had.

I also loved that it would air at like 2-3 am I believe it was? I was in school at the time so I always looked forward to watching it since I was up lol

High Stakes Poker for sure. Back in the day I couldn't sleep waiting for the new episode lol

High Stakes Poker with legendary Gabe Kaplan.I remeber one hand Phill Laak was in BB with aces and everyone just limped to him and he just nonchalantly put a brick of 50k in the middle.I almost died laughing..

I've just finished seeing Season 1 of high stakes poker, "Sam" Farha is my favorite so far, I really like how he plays plus he has the status of a poker player )

Haha nice! Both are very good shows, I've been meaning on going back and rewatching them but haven't gotten to it yet. Maybe I will soon!

I like to watch poker, mostly the wsop because they have so much content but the one thing that's important to me when I'm watching poker on TV is do they have all the table info available. I want to know the blinds, starting stacks, chip average, things like that so I can actually figure out how these guys play. If I don't know how many BBs a player has then you can learn a whole lot from the hand, in my opinion. Also, I like knowledgeable commentators but I do enjoy Lon and Norman at times. It's best when they have a third man in the booth to analyze the hands, like Antonio.

I have only ever watched poker shows on TV, with cable!! - ask your Parents. But the one that stands out is Poker After Dark (PAD) - the first seasons with Shana Hiatt as the "Hot Chick who talks to the Bust Outs" (HCBO). It was made at a time when the technology and the popularity of poker TV were reaching a plateau. Its contemporaries were Poker Superstars (or something like that), the time delayed (like months) WSOP with Norm and Lon, lots of other televised tourneys from US and UK, and a host of British (English really) shows with Jesse May narrating. PAD was superior to all these.

In the years since, the HCBO has been replaced by relevant, intelligent people (although still lots of hot women) who are an improvement on Hyatt, but even though Shana Hiatt will never be mistaken for Kara Scott, she performed her roll to perfection. Her replacements tried too hard to sound like they understood the game, which they did not.

Ali Najad was, and still is, one of my favourite poker announcers. He (mostly) did it solo. There were regs and guests, including Kara Scott and Ali Najad. Play was straightforward - six player Sit n Go, winner take all with some exceptions. And there was lots of real table talk, the kind you get when a group of friends gets together to play.

The regs included Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, Jennifer Harmon, Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, etc, etc. It was a who's who of the era.

I think I would rather watch a Sit n Go than any other format. Add in the quality of production and players, and you've got a combination that, for me may, never be surpassed.

here's another thing...I like to follow the WSOP Circuit. Now there is only good commentary on the main event and sometimes it's quite in depth. You can really see when they are opening their hand ranges and I find it really interesting

I know what you say, and you are right and I like to watch these things, I'll consider watching the WSOP, thank you very much
