I am currently creating a poker table and I am going to have an elevated rail. I was wondering if anyone can assist me with a problem I came across. On most televised event there is a section on the table that connects the rail to the table ( wall, border) does anyone knows the exact name for at area and where can I get customs made. If you don't know what I'm talking about its the area where the card cam is . Thanks

The part, if you're looking for a custom part, is the raised rail insert. You can get them customized with patterns, logos, or ready for cams. Or, of course, you can make your own. So, for that type of table, if you're looking for a pattern, search for "raised rail poker table plans" and you'll find lots of resources.

I guess after you build your bankroll, you can build your table. Or is it vice versa? Anyway, Q: Why would you buid a poker table? A: Felt like it.

If you're referring to a "racetrack" I would recommend against it.

People like to play with their chips during play, and the noise can be unbearable on a hard racetrack.

If you like the look, just make it a different colored felt.

Also... no cup holders. Give them small tables to put food and drinks on. One spill, and it's recovering time.
