Cardrunners question, any comments would be appreciated

I was thinking about joining their site and was checking out their pricing, and was blown away...almost 500 bucks for a year. Is there really anything there that I can't find myself. I've read Hellmuth, Hansen, Caro, Negreaneau, and I love to read poker books.(Ironic cause I never read usually) If anyone out there has joined, or thought about joining, can I get some feedback from ya. Is it something to join for a month or two or is it just a bunch of poker guys getting rich off people's bad beats.

Wrong! People tend to think they are getting a better deal if they are paying more (for the same reason that 48o looks like a good hand). IMHO there wont be much you could learn there that you cant from reading free info here and other places like it or by buying books by the people you have named, and the info in the books doesnt expire after a year.
With that being said, what all do you get for the 500? are you in a boat load of tourneys where you can win more than the fee? If you can buy into more tournaments for that same 500 than they offer its not worth it IMO

Wow dude i think thats pretty whack, 500$ to join a site. What posibly could you learn from a poker website that you cant learn from somewhere else. I believe you should just put 500$ down on a poker site, the more playing you do is what i think makes a better poker player. I'm sure you can find enough info on cardschat to be a great player.

cardrunners has a lot of good videos and information but its really a complete rip off considering you can get all of the information they have for free if you look a little harder elsewhere.

lol well CR (along with Stox, DC, and a few others) have high stakes players (think 5knl+) recording videos with their thoughts, most geared towards the members (so they'll make videos down at 25nl, 50nl, but mostly the 100-600nl range). How much of that can you find on your own? Sure you could figure it out on your own. Or you could cut a long part of the process out. Obviously subscribing to a site only does what you're willing to work for. But I belong to Stox and I know a few others do and it's definitely worth it. I wouldn't do it until you're at least playing 50nl or so and preferably 6max (because for some reason those sites don't think FR is real poker ). But think of it this way, at 50nl $500/year is less than a buy-in a month, and if it helps you move up faster it becomes even less than that. So yes I think it's worth it, but only for the right people. First off you have to be motivated to watch the videos and improve, and second of all most sites don't teach the very basics. If you're struggling to beat 10nl, people at CC will probably help you much more than a site like CR. But if you're stuck and could use some help playing 100 or 200nl, then it's definitely worth it imo. Just my 2 cents.

Buy harrington's three volume set and work through all the problems in vol.3. Then decide if you still need the help.
