If You want to make money at poker and get better you should study and work on your game alot. Does not matter what are You playing, learn, analyze your play and improve.

Tornys usually have a nice payout relative to the buy-in whereas cash games are usually a grind unless you're in high stakes.

But overall, in my opinion, if you're a "by the numbers" player, you're better off in cash games. If you're a sneaky, strategic, gambling sob, then go for mtt's because you ain't making final table without taking risks and winning some coinflips unless you grind some serious volume.

I rather long mtts play personally and hate the grind. So yeah

I prefer tournaments. Cache games are unprofitable for me.
Most of all I like the bounty tournaments.

Which one would you rather play ?

It is also a question of having fun. If you enjoy what you're doing, you'll most likely do better. It will be easier to focus and play long sessions.

Personally I like a lot much tournaments, cause there is a competitive aspect. At the end, there is a winner and ranking that defines clearly how good I have done, whereas it's not that clear in cash games. But that's just my personal preference

You can make money in different games. That depends on what you will better like. You need to try to play cash and tournaments and after that choose something, where you can show better results. Anyway, if you want to win in poker, you need to learn how to play poker.

I'm more of a numbers oriented player, but am still a tournament player. I find cash games more dull because they have no variety in terms of chip stack etc. And there is no real end to a cash game

if you are looking to win money on a consistant basis, then i would say cash games. you can literally double or more your money in one hand and can get up and leave. in a tournament, depending on the stakes and payout, you might sit there for hours and not win anything. but if you do win a tournament , you win big. its really a matter of opinion and thats mine.lol
