me personally, i have more luck in cash games. in tournaments i always get a big chip stack and end up loosing it. my endurance isnt strong enough.

I prefer playing in the tournament. Of course I'd like to win real money, but Poker for me is something more than the way to earn money

I'm a losing small stakes cash game player at the moment, but i feel like i play good stuff and a little more discipline & shorter sessions will turn me into a winning one.

I think tournaments offer bigger scores and theres probably "easier" money to be won (short stacks giving up & shoving with K high, etc). You rarely win worthwhile pots in cash games in the same manner you win pots in tournies.

The skill difference imo is that tournies require survival instinct, cash games require an ability to build pots then go after them with a killer instinct. Imo, winning cash game players are better, because they need to produce winning results over large sample sizes, constantly winning money that opponents are not forced to shove in, like tournaments.

I play both in tournaments and in cash games, in a tournament it's good to play but it takes a long time to get into the prize zone and win money, in the cash game you can win money quickly and for a short time if you can play well that cache games are good for raising a bankroll, but if you like to play tournaments then play Sit and Go with a small number of 6-9 players, you can also try to win, choose a game for yourself where you will play perfectly and you will feel great, I wish you luck that you find your game and have won money!

I believe it varies from each other to bankrool of course, some players adapt more to cash game other tournament and sit go. I in particular could not adapt to the cash game but made the study of the modality mainly the post flop.

Tourney play would probably be cheaper in losing but cash play you’d probably learn quicker

In cash games you will lose money if you don't know when to stop. Tournaments are a safer way to build up your cashier in my opinion.

I think tournaments are a good choice for the casual/beginner poker player because you don't have to worry about going on tilt and losing your whole bankroll in a few minutes. Tournaments allow you to manage your bankroll easier than cash games.

The best place to make money is cash game but first you need to be a skill player and play lots of MTT (the scholl of poker)

To each one. For me, for example, I like playing MTT more than cache. You should try both of them. and then choose yourself independently.

I think you should do both. Each will make certain parts of your poker game better. cash games will help you play deep with lots of big blinds and hand reading skills ect. mtt for short stacks and shove/call ranges ect.

I play both, however I should really only play cash. Think of it this way.

In tournament play you buy in for say $150, that's a field of at least 100 players. Not counting add-ons, rebuys, etc. That means to cash you have to win a few coin flips at minimum, and beat out 95% of the field.

In cash you can buy in for $500, and win $400 on your first hand.

I play both, and I enjoy both for different reasons. I also think both have their own set of pros & cons.

If you're working on building a bankroll with a very limited out of pocket investment, I would recommend tournaments. Less stress/pressure, and you can get a higher ROI for your buyin... but you also have to be a good tournament player to make the money. (Note-- you can be a good poker player, but need to know and respect the difference between tournaments & cash.)

On the other hand, if you HAVE a decent bankroll to play with-- cash is much easier to profit from. Know when to walk away, and know when to run... but you don't have to play for long hours and outlast XX(X) other players to cash out.

Depends on your play style, preference, etc. "No easy money" method. Both have their pros and cons. Would recommend giving both a try with play money or microstakes, find one you like, and master that specific game.

Well my profits are better in tournaments than cash games. But that depends on what focus you want to have, how much you are willing to spend, how much you want to earn. Tournaments for being longer and tiring, the chance to win something will depend on luck and skill. And in the cash game, the winnings may even be faster in the short run, but the risk of breaking is higher, especially when your opponent is luckier than yours, and you can defeat an Ace of Three with a straight A-5, as it already occurred to me, that with the person paying an all in with 2-3 and the flop coming out A-4-5. But they're game stuff.

It really depends on your style. If you like sitting down, doing well for a bit, and then leaving, go for cash. If you need the finality and competition of a tournament in order to succeed, do that or sit and gos.
Personally I can't seem to do well at cash games. The lack of a defined "beginning and end" gets to me.

You have to find your game. I like tournament because you can be a little more flexible in the play. You have to adjust to the blinds and you know where you have to end up. I stink at cash games but I still like to sit and play at them.
