If you were to categorize Pocket Pairs into 3 Groups (Small, Medium, and Large), would you consider Pocket Tens (TT) to be a Medium Pocket Pair? Or a Large Pocket Pair? Let me know what you think.

I would put them in the top of medium pocket pair bracket. JJ would be at the end of large pocket pair for me.

If there are 5-9 players on table :

Small : 22-99
Medium: 1010-QQ
Large:KK and AA

But if I play heads up poker, then it is:

Small: 22-77
Medium:88-JJ
High:QQ-AA

But everything depends on how many players are on the table, and what is your position. IMO there is no universal categorization for pocket pairs.

Not really classifying them at the table, depending on my position and how many are in the hand on how I will play them. Sometimes ducks will be played as AA.

I think, that it is right to classify the cards into three groups.
And in my opinion, pocket tens is the average pair.

A pair of 10-10 is considered an average pocket pair ..
2-2 \ 8-8 - small
9-9 \ J-J - medium
Q-Q \ A-A - large

This question is very informative. And the replies even more so. Those who put JJ in the large pair category may play at my table any time. What is the common saying about JJ? "There are 4 ways to play JJ.....................and they are ALL WRONG." Anyway, TT, in my opinion is a small pair.

It all depends on the number of players at the table (6-max or 9-max), and also depends on the limit of poker. I think that the pocket pair TT on micro- and medium limits can be attributed to medium pairs.

I categorize three groups as all and include the JJ and TT as middle hands. Maybe even a 99.Unless these pairs are low hands.

Never thinked about this. I guess i would put them in the top of the medium pocket pairs, but then again in some cases i would put them at the lowest top pairs.

Hello. I would consider pocket 10's to be the top of the "Medium" pocket pair range. JJ+ would be "Large" imo
