Chip dumping can be obvious or subtle. If you think it is obvious, you might want to complain. I look for location. PS still shows the city you are playing from but not the country or state/province. If I see the same city and they are soft playing or chip dumping, I will report. I reported players on Bodog a couple of months ago. Two players reraising and a quick fold by one of them on the turn. I got some spam type response from BD support. I hope that they at least look at the hand sometimes to see.

They do look at the hands, but if everyone just reports everything then they will drown in reports, and wont have time to investigate fast enough.

Thats why I think its important to check up on players before reporting them, and not just report anyone and anything in vain...

Chat on full tilt

NCfoldem said:
I often tell players: "English Only" for that collusion reason. No one pays any attention (language barrier maybe .... ). It IS a rule at every single poker site, except for those tourneys specific to 1 country or another.
I experiance the group of players that are from baltic states and they seem to disrigard the "english only" rule imposed by tilt. I find it unnerving/rude that they even after being reminded of said rule they continue. BUT IT DOES LEAVE YOU WITH SOME QUESTION MARKS IN YOUR HEAD AS TO ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT THE PRESENT HAND.

So what happened? Some times you might think that two players are colluding, when they in fact dont even know each other.

This is important...it can often seem like there's collusion going on, especially when you're the short stack on the bubble and it seems like everyone is purposefully soft playing each other but abusing the hell out of you.

Also, I highly doubt that colluders would talk about the current hand in chat, regardless of their language. It's not like translation is hard now, and they could just load up AIM or something.

Funny side note on the English-only rule. Apparently PS takes it quite seriously.

In one of our CC League games a few days ago, several of us were goofing off in chat, speaking pretty bad French, Spanish, German, pig latin, etc. Keep in mind this is a private CC game with just 9 players and a few more on the rail, all CC league members. A few minutes later a Stars bot/rep interrupts us in chat to remind us of the English-only rule and tells us to stop the non-English chat. Now I *know* it wasn't one of us who reported it, so either there was a silent railbird who did it, or they have chat filters running that trigger a report when it detects . Funny thing is that's the first time I've seen it and it wasn't even a real collusion-type issue, we were all goofing off on the rail like we always do -- but I never see it during public games when players really are carrying on in their native tongues, lol.

Its really bad that you have to worry about nonsense like this as hard as it is to keep your game straight and then to watch people do crazy stuff like this is just messing up the game. I have a translator on all the time when they talk in rooms and found it odd that these 2 guys just keep talking about ligour and beer which Im guessing meant liguor was a better hand to go with and beer wasnt. I know sounds stupid but how many times do you need to tell somebody, I m getting some liguor, or I have some beer. but nowhere in the chat was anybody drinking LOL. Like this beer taste good, just Its ligour its beer etc

Doesnt matter where they're from. If they chip dumped and worked together that's the issue. The way the world and internet is today, one person can be from Brazil and the other from England, they can still work together and screw people over.

Next time, leave out the homeland (unless it has something to do with the case) and put more effort into the problem. (Working together to screw you out of a tourney)

Hope all goes well for you.

^^^This.
I agree no matter what the language, they are not going to post it in chat, they will use one of the many instant messengers available.
That's what I do anyway...

et1961 Thanks for this thread. I am a retired senior widower and spend a lot of time playing mostly play money but do play real money in between. Certain times of the day about all you can get to play with are foreigners because the Americans are usually working during most of the daytime. I get into many games loaded with foreigners and don't seem to get anywhere when playing foreigners in general. It does seem that they do help each other out in some way or another. You made my day as I thought it was just me. Have the good day and thanks. I think I will start putting the address ([email protected]) in the chat box when I see this going on.
THATS RACIST. Seriously, just because they are not from USA? Really?

^^^I don't think he meant it like that.
I like him, I think he just worded it wrong.

Me too! But I prefer non-foreigners. After all Swedish are the biggest fish.

And to OP.

You have provided zero evidence, and it seems FT didnt think you had a case, as you havent posted anything about any answer from them.

I would be careful of accusing although I've been on both sides. This is ethnically oriented. Once I was playing against some Russians and people thought they were cheating but I speak a decent bit of russian and it was obvious they were not. I've noticed that people tend to think anyone speaking in a foreign language is cheating somehow. I guess it's just a cultural suspicions but it seems unfair to me and makes me not want to play when it becomes so racist in rooms like that. Although there was a time when what you speak of happened to me when two guys were chinese and writing in chinese and seemed to be giving advice and chip dumping and the likes. From simply the way they were playing ti seemed like ti but once more I have to plead ignorance because I don't speak mandarin.

This has happened to me as well, where it was obvious that the 2 remaining players were colluding against me. I sent an email to [email protected] and explained why I thought they were colluding and asked them to investigate. They did, agreed with me, and deposited the winning amount into my account in like 2 days. I came away quite impressed with the process. Oh, and supposedly the two guilty accounts had the winnings pulled from their accounts and were going to be suspended and fully investigated. Can't argue with results.

Now that is what I call a good outcome. It's too bad that all poker rooms will not take this behaviour more seriously and repremand the culpret!!!!!!

i would be livid. there is no reason why FTP shouldnt give u the 1st prize and they keep the 2nd and 3rd prizes themselves. at least you weren't on the bubble though and got bounced. congrats on getting to the money. you should have reported it during the tournament and tried to stall somehow so a rep got it. sometimes when i'm sitting at a table a player gets warned about their chat only mins after they said something inappropriate

Bodog Collusion

I was playing in a 100K tourney qualifier and top 10 get a spot. The chip leader raised everyone to try to eliminate a player when there were 11 left but he didnt raise the short stack whom he was obviously frineds with on the site. Multiple players saw him just call his friends big blind and fold after the flop to keep him alive. He told him when there were 15 players left to not play against him and fold to the money. The player had less than 3k in chips when the blinds were 1500 and 750 and all the big chip leader did was call his big blind and fold after the flop. 2 of the 6 players at the table saw him do this and told him we see what your doing. He responded by saying to try to prove it. I reported it and security said he only folded the last 2 rounds to him. If he raises him he is out of the tourny or has to win the hand. Amazing that a player can raise for 16 out of 18 hands since he had more than double the amount of chips than anyone and he calls and folds to his friend and Bodog does nothing about it. I removed them from my computer and I recommend not to play that site. Anyone know a site that doesnt allow collusion?
