Competitive games of skill like Poker that pay?

Poker is a game of skill, but there is obviously a luck factor involved. It's not like I want to stop playing poker, but I wouldn't mind trying a new, non-poker related game where I can transfer a similar learning method and process of development, and where luck is less of a factor compared to practice and skill.

If it pays too that would be great!

I'm open to anything that you can think of. I am also doing some searching right now, even video games of a certain kind could be good. I don't really want anything too "hypo" or fast though, I just found out that Age of Empires II tournaments are still a thing and they pay well!

Interestingly, a game like that does contain some elements of poker, in that you can use diplomatic situations as bluffs or implied bluffs to create traps, things like that.

And then there's lesser known card games, and video-game card games, like Magic and all that.....

So yeah, I know this post is pretty unfocused; share your ideas or thoughts on games with good potential for skill development, tourneys, and possibly cash payouts!

Hah, I haven't really! But I understand that it uses dice? I'm looking for something where the luck factor is severely nerfed .

Money is ovbio , but woe depends on your level of winning or to accumulate experience that is the first thing where you start, and improve your game, I think there are mostly fictitious money and real-
