What music do they think helps us to concentrate when playing poker and prevent emotions from dominating us and thus avoid making bad decisions.

Some people like music, some people don't.

Some people I know listen to gangster rap while playing.

Doug Polk said he listened to "Push It to the Limit" by Rick Ross before he fired up his heads up tables for the day.

One of the best cash game players I've gotten a chance to speak with said he very seldom listens to music while he's playing and when he does it's classical music by famous composers to calm him down.

It's really about what you like the most, no one else can tell if you play better while blaring gangsta rap or Taylor Swift or somewhere in between. Find what you think you'll like personally and go from here.

I try and mostly listen to stuff that is somewhat upbeat so I can just dance the bad beats away.

I think meditation or relaxation music is good for improving concentration. Although everyone has their own preferences, and I don't rule out that there are players who concentrate better to classical music, while others concentrate better to rock or jazz. It all depends on your tastes. I think the main thing is that you like the music.

Your topic is very good. Concentration is an essential factor in both live and online poker. Yes, distractions will exist, but what will shape your focus will be your strategy during the tournament. Tilt due to distractions outside of poker must be analyzed carefully so as not to become repetitive.

Great question — music can definitely shape your mindset at the table. The goal is to keep your emotions stable, decisions logical, and focus sharp. What works best depends on your personality and is situational dependent for example, different music at different stages of the tournament.

no rap or rock or who knows what could happen when you get caught up in the music...

For me, it all depends on my level of play. In freerolls or micro-stakes games, music doesn't help or bother me. Any type of music is fine. I don't listen to any music in higher-stakes games. It's a firm rule.

I think each of us has different preferences, for example I don't like listening to music while playing poker. Regards :)

I listen to music. I don't really find myself distracted from the table by it, even when having a quiet sing along.

Music will reduce my stress & anxiety but prefer silence when I need to concentrate.

I tend to play without music, it doesn't influence me much, it only increases my bad decisions ajsjajs, I like my “silence”, the truth is what I do while playing is talking to myself about what is happening in each hand, why he does that and try to guess what the other player has, when I get bored or just tired of talking I only see my cell phone (TikTok, Instagram)
