here in Brazil has a television program presented by Vitao in band news , their slogan is : poker sport Mind you agree with this slogan ?

I'm not sure I agree so much as it being a sport, but it is definitely a mental game in which to succeed you must out think your opponents on many levels.

As @therealslomo said i don`t think poker is a sport,but i agree with being a mind game.Of course there is a 20% part of luck,but the biggest role is the mind,the strategy,the emotional intelligence.

any sport can be done gambling.....After all, betting on sports and horse races...And the mind should be. There is an opinion that poker players do not happen in old age sclerosis

Poker is not a sport. Sports are competitions involving physical activity, that have no luck element. I think it is ridiculous that the Olympic committee recognizes chess and some other card games as such. Chess is a board game. Poker is a card game. In my opinion we should stop pretending they are something they are not.

In real it is and it is not because it has everywhere bets, moments and everything, but it is a card game and you do not know what will turn the community cards will not always win by better you play.

any concept can be a relative. To win is to be in front of everyone.So the competition can be achieve mental and physical perfection. And you can place a bet on any win or loss.Gambling can be done any game. And yet poker is a game smart

I think big tournaments and live poker is a mind game!!
Online poker is more gambling I think, except in big tournaments.

No doubt that poker is a sport like chess. Sometimes everebody will approve this fakt. We can't know when exactly it's will happen, but it gonna be so!

There are several definitions of "sport". One of them(from dictionary.com):

3. diversion; recreation; pleasant pastime.

certainly includes poker.

The primary definition:

1. an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature

would certainly not include poker.

There are no sports based on that definition, however, that do not include some element of luck.

Poker is certainly a mental game. With all of the tools available for playing online poker, it has become more of a mechanical game that doesn't require that much thought. Much more mental effort is required to play live poker.
