controlling losses

Hey all,
I need a little help with the negative side of variance! I've been fighting it for about a month now and seem to be losing. I was wondering if any of you had guidelines that you follow in regards to controlling losses.I play mostly full Nl full RNG games. I feel like I am following good BR management rules,just seem to have a lot of losing sessions.

well what i do is after a few loses or a really bad beat where i know i cant play solid poker anymore. i stop for the day or at least 4-5 hours so that i can get my head straight. also are you playing to many hands, playing on tilt, stressed out, or is it possible u r playing on scared money at the table. theses are factors you should be answering no too. it could just be ur downswing that ur on right now. if i was u i would review my hands and see if i would have played them different. if you need help post them in the hand history review and ask for help. thats what i would do. hope that helped.

I think knowing when its time to stop a session is one of the harder aspects of playing multi table BRM. I know when I here myself say
'F-it Im calling that raise" is usually when I am stress and have been losing and go ahead and just end it.

Yes, I have been in a similar spot recently. I took a break, read some books on poker for ideas, thought about my play, and figured it was too loose.
I concentrated on the "small hand, small pot" philosophy, and I also try to keep the long term strategy in mind in the midst of individual hands - it becomes easier to let go of marginal situations. All this has helped me.

Do you have solid evidence that you are actually a winning player in the long run? Otherwise, it's not really called variance when you're losing ...

No amount of bankroll management can help you from going busto if you're not +EV at this game.
