That's probably because you have a family and other family sized bills

. Also might have to do with your cost of living. Here in North Carolina, the cost of living is very affordable. If you were good with your money, I'd say a single person could get by making just $900/month. Average rent around here is about $550ish, factor in basic stuff like cell phone, car insurance, health insurance, groceries, gas, etc. and you've got it all covered. Of course I'm not saying one should even think about just getting by and living such a shitty lifestyle, but it's doable. A winning player at 50NL (beating it at 8bb/100 let's say) is making $16/hr (if he's playing roughly 400 hands/hour). That's $480/week and about $1900/month. That's way more than enough to live off of here, considering the above expenses. If you have a car payment/house payment/kids/wife though, you'd be better be crushing 5000knl imo.
