I am not a pro, but I think it's when you leave the other things and poker become your priority and the source of your earnings.
It's when you have enough earnings to live only with it, getting compromised with the game.

A pro has very good bankroll management! Pro will also have a great deal of experience/played 100s of thousands of hands. They also got a niche Kid Poker has the ability to read you like the cards are turnned over. Chris J Ferguson is so tight that he almost has a hammer lock on every hand he commits to JJ 488JQ vs A8. He also to prove a point started with0$ on full tilt. He turned it into over 10k in less than a year using his bankroll mangmnt. skill. Doyle hes a got a lot of all the styles and was the master!! I think you need some of or at least 1 of the skills that u have down and then a mix of the others to become a pro. Then must live of the your winnings. Min of 35k a year a low limit pro. You would have to play net or have a apartment in Vegas or next to a casino!

Tournaments do not have to be important nor do you have to win them. But you must have enough money in prize pools and come in a place consistent enough in order to make enough money in order to live and support your life style. like if 10th is 5k take a 3rd for 17k Id say that's good and have 4 1k buy ins and 6 2k buys that's 10k you would plus 12k in 10 days so monthly that's 36k if half are 2 day tourney that's still 24k. About 300k a yr.

Yes, I agree with you, a poker pro must play in the big live tourneys in Vegas that's where the big money is . And play at tables in live games in the big casinos.

If your primary source of income is derived from Poker and that is how you support yourself and your family, then you are a professional poker player. That is your profession on your Tax Form, etc..

Anything else you are a Recreational Player. You still may be a winning player, but it is not how you earn a living. Now if you have savings or a trust fund, which allows you to play poker everyday. You might be on your way to being a professional.
