Difference In Strength Of Online and Live Tournaments

What buyin in terms of strength exactly do you think a $50 live buyin tournament is equivalent to.
$50 is about the minimum entry you can get for a tournament live at least where I live.
I've only played in online tournaments in the range of $2 to $20 so can't compare exactly.
Do you think the stregth of a $50 online tourney is much harder than $50 live and $20 online would be close to it?

Im my opinion,a $50 live buy-in contains about 1/2 of the field that stands little chance without the cards just hitting em in the face.
My best guess would be around $11 buy-in.
Either way you are going to have alot of good players as the field narrows to 1/2 out and on to the finish.

In my opinion there is a world of difference. We have a local "charity game" at the VFW every month and another at the KOC every Friday. Both have a $60.00 buy in and provide food and drinks for the price. I have no problem making the final table on a regular basis. They are usually 60-100 entries.
On line however, I have only been able to make a final table at a $34.00 game.
I have the patients and desire to work on it though. I realize Ive been working on my live game for 25 years and my cyber game for only a few months. Ill get there.
