Differences btw tournaments and cash game

Why do I always get to double my stack on tournaments (and then sometimes i get itm or not, but that's not the point...), and I don't on cash games?
I find cash games really more difficult than tourns, do you?

No, not really. I think the cash game are easier money, at least for me.
It depends on what level you are playing at. $1-$5 buy-in's tournys
have a lot of bad players. Cash games vary. When level are you playing?
cash games? tourny?

I play max 0.25-0.50 cash and up to 10.00 tournaments.

on the rare occasions that i play for real money, i have found ,like you, i play better,or win more at tourneys than the cash tables.usually get killed at cash tables.kind of odd that happens though.of course some people are opposit, and cant play torneys,but clean house at the tables.

This is the level I find the play in cash games gets better. Most players
at this level are fairly good. I think rich fish play higher and the most of the total donks play lower. I think .15/.25 games can be much softer.
As far as $10 tournaments you still find a lot donks who can afford $10,
but the $50 buy in at a .25/.50 game adds up quick. So you find more good players who wont just throw money around. I think this is a hard level to play at. But i could be wrong.

easy easy answer....Tourneys = allin allin allin or fold. plus people dont mind bluffing there whole stack b/c all they lose is there buyin. Cash games tak skill, thought on every street, people are not as prone to lbluff allin for like $100 as they would be for like a $10 buyin..i know alot of tourney players that suck at cash games but not many cash game players that suck at tourneys. simply put cash games take alot more skill.

I think your analisys is the nearest to my thoughts. Conclusion is: I must improve a bit more to get good results on cash...

Since the blinds go up in a tournament the action is necessarily forced to be faster. Read this excellent article about the differences between cash and tournament play.

Here is a thread where Paul Wasicka tried to answer a similar question. I particularly like this quote:

"Tournaments you are usually trying to put pressure on and get your opponents to fold their hands to you. Whereas cash games you are typically trying to hit a better hand and get paid off."

sitting back and waiting for AA, KK isnt a bad thing. after sitting for long enough you will turn a profit no doubt.
for me i like playing the 6max rings with more action.
i love bumping it up with like 810s or sum in position of course. i also like picking on tight players. lol...my main recommendation guazza if you want to get good in cash games is go on youtube and watch every single episode of HSP. high stakes poker...just type that in on the search thing. your welcome in advance. pz
