Do You Believe in Streaks of Bad Luck?

Hello everyone,

I often find my self in having forexample on monday a lot of luck. Winning every hand in which I have 25% odds. And the next day I find my self having trouble winning hands in which I have at least 80% odds.

My question is, do you believe that there does something excist (not a god or something like that ofcourse) that makes you having those bad luck, goodluck streaks?

I often hear that people have something like a tallisman around, a cardprotector that they believe brings luck or something else. Do you believe in that kind of stuff, because I am starting to believe in those.

i think maybe being on tilt or playing poorly with a bad strategy is the problem rather than bad luck..

Guess you have a point in that. If you get unlucky ones, you often kan trip a little bit and that will make you lose more. I guess that in a lot of cases this is the hole problem and I will have to work on that. That means that I have to know to stop playing after something that makes me angry happens. And play again later.

Sadly I meant that there were some people that have so much luck so often. (atleast against me). I have played 3 sit and goes (1.50dollar) against the man and in all tree I push allin with cards like A9 or A10 or JJ and he calls me with A4 or A2 or 44 and he wins everytime. It is so strange that I could not understand why it was happening. Guess it just wasn't my day.

I know that if you lose with A,A player that keeps 2,7 anymore because it did not play because of overheating every game, but the second day they did.

That is variance, bad luck or just the softuer wants to destroy your bankroll. I don't know but my advice to you guys is just to stop playing for a couple of days or u will be busted

No need to look at the individual matchdays. See the game for a long period. Good luck and good luck not always happen. You can draw a graph of luck and not luck .Because hold the middle line and it will show your rating luck.

As previously stated, it's called variance. Pay attention to how you play hands, not the results.

It all depends on your mood if you are angry, of course you will play badly, but if you're in the mood for sure you will feel comfortable and will play better, and I do not believe in bad luck.

I hear this all the time... ALL THE TIME "There is no such thing as luck"
And then, they meet me... and after about a week or 2 they say
WOW you really do have BAD LUCK... and i say YEP.
I am cursed and really do have horrible luck, but yet all my loved ones live.
Im poor, i can never get ahead and everything just sucks, but my loved ones live, so i guess thats my even trade for my bad luck.
But I absolutely believe in Bad luck, Not sure about Good luck because ive never been a witness to that. I am also a Cleveland fan (Browns, Cavs, Indians) So i mean... Its like not a question of my bad luck, Tomorrow is game 7 and good lord I should bet on GS just to give the Cavs a chance...

Just so im clear, Im not talking about just poker, I do have bad luck in poker, but since its a game of skill i can come out ahead more often then not. I often lose when im WAY WAY ahead tho
Like not KK to AA lose... Like Flopped a set to an underpair calling and they runner quads...
Flop a boat w 77 on a 667 board and someone w AK doesnt fold and runners AA
Or omaha 664 comes out and im holding 4568 and villain has AAQ10.. First has to call my 3 bet for several hundred, which obviously you are crushed, and then he has to turn or river his A... So bad luck.. yeah im all over that in poker,
I am talking bad luck in life, Like someone comes out of nowhere to smash my car... like i wasnt even in it...
Or its a perfect day and it will just start raining... but not on the city or the street... JUST ON MY HOUSE.. literally.. like come on. Until a player is drawing dead, there is always a chance that a card will be dealt that gives them the best hand no matter how little the chance is. If that was not the case, everyone would fold for the best possible hand and then automatically win. Sometimes, I lose 10 buy-ins with premium hands but sometimes Im up more than 10 buy-ins with the same. In the long run it all evens out and that is the payoff. For me, it can be difficult in the moment, but then a little later its all better. My main concentration is not putting my money in the pot with little to no chance of winning. That is the opposite of luck, its a mistake and bad play.

It is variance. Keep going and controling your bankroll so you can decrease the power of badbeats on you.

I do not believe in bad luck, if in self mistakes when playing, if I believe in the mood in one helps to lose, but I always think it is the game of one that leads to lose or win spins can be good If you win always and bad if you lose, but I put this example, final table tournament the 4 finalists win prizes nothing more than a thousand participants, you lose and you fall 4 is a bad streak because you did not leave first I hope you understand what I want to express

Bad luck is real. Most poker players refer to it as variance. It happens all the time to everyone in poker. You got to not let it affect you and your game but it is hard as you feel you can do no right. A break from the games to clear your mind usually helps a lot even if it is a MTT and you're still playing in the tournament. When you're running bad it affects your game as you start second guessing yourself and start making poor decisions as you start expecting the worse every situation. Got to stay calm and focused and stick to your game plan.

Yes, it is. There are very long streaks of bad luck. Your the best map kill all sorts of debris.

It's real like death. It happens to all of us.. More often that happens online. But don't pay too much attention on that, think bout next hand. It's poker after all..

Bad luck streaks?
Of course it exists. As for me, the basics of poker - stats and odds. But the odds are not distributed linearly. In one game you win 10 hands with a chance of 90%, in the other - only 7.

certainly been there on more than one occasion had some really bad periods but by playing steady and slowing down I have managed to survive without too much damage

what happens is called variation, this makes poker a roler coster

I never get good cards. I have to play crap and close my eyes. The only time that I noticed that I got good cards is after a trip to the bathroom and I've been folded.

there's two casinos i go to b/c the choices are limited where i live..one i go to i am very profitable the other it seems every time i go, i get coolored constantly

Yeah, i am in a 22 years bad luck streaks

Yes, it is very black streak. The white streak is usually short.
