Poker its a competition and everyone who participates is trying to win ; if someone plays over his head and looses money he cant afford to loose, thats his problem, not yours.

If I talk to the person online and are friendly and kind of makes friends with then. I try to avoid pots with them to not take all their chips.
When/if I do take all their chips, I do feel kinda bad lol.

Absolutely not. I put in the effort to play better than they do, and they didn't. I didn't make them play, I don't pretend to be worse to deceive them, the rec-fish would play anyway. They got what they wanted: a pleasant diversion, had fun, chalked up their losses to entertainment and I got their chips. In the end, they could have gotten mine by being lucky.

What's there to feel guilty about?

In very rare cases I do feel a bit guilty - when I see that a player is a complete noob and loses notable sum of money. He thinks he plays at least average so he plays above micro stakes, but I see he is weak and his place is in the micro, just for learning real money tables. But those cases are quite rare.

I wouldnt call it guilt but there is definitely a somewhat sombre feeling when you win money from people you know very well.

It's more of a live feeling than an online thing i suspect which is why this thread is probably overwhelmingly one sided into the no territory.
