When I play poker, I always leave my rabbit's foot, my lucky horseshoe, my four-leaf clover, the image of my saints next to my pc, I light a candle for my guardian angel, my medal with the number 18 , which is my lucky number, a glass of holy water and a bunch of rue, that's all.

All professional players are extremely superstitious. This applies to football players, hockey players and, of course, poker players. Everyone tries to have their own personal talisman for good luck, so that the chances of winning are maximum. That is why card keepers often become personal mascots that players never part with. I have a talisman in the form of a banknote.

This past January I played a ladies tournament at Filotimo in Manchester, NH. One of the other women gave each of us a Kinder Joy chocolate egg, and inside of each one was a little figurine that you could assemble. I got this little wolf and she did an excellent job of guarding my chips in that tournament. She also did a great job of standing on and protecting my $100 bounty chip at Mohegan Sun last weekend, the first time I've played live since getting her. Unfortunately the cards were no help so after three successful all ins, on the fourth we had to leave the table.

She is sitting in front of me right now looking up at the screen (her head tilts up

). She's just here for company though, because I have my rifle to ward off chip thieves.

I'm not really all that superstitious but like Remo said in the movie Casino, "Why take a chance?" And besides...she's cute!

I don't have any superstition or lucky charm to play online poker. I usually am a superstitious person, but for online poker I just try to only play when I'm rested and focused.

For me it’s the wardrobe. Went to my first in person poker tournament earlier this year in Vegas and ended up splitting it.

My clothing choice for that event has become my de facto “poker costume”. lol
