Everyone and I mean everyone goes broke playing poker sometime in threr life. It is just the name of the game. The best you can do is bankroll management. I play stud and razz online and I do pretty well for myself, I've actually been able to pay for the car payment playing poker for about 7 months. That being said I have also had times where I lost money, I gave up NL Hold Em for pretty good stakes because I couldn't handle the swings, I stick to games like stud and razz because I have an easier time reading my opponents hands because 4 are showing. Find what games work for you. Maybe limit would be best to start so you don't go through the money swings.

My target was $10k profit for the year. Obv, I am ahead of that currently, although it is of course possible I could still suffer a downswing.

My career target is to win one million dollars at poker. Some way still to go on that one, lol, but I am pretty confident I will get there sooner or later, unless there is some major change in the nature of the online game.

My BR was approximately $10k at the beginning of the year and stands at $12,700 currently, but I have made several withdrawals. The BR doesn`t actually need to grow any larger now, because I now have more than 100 buyins even for $109 tournies, which seems adequate.

I started out my online career with $250 of my own money (long since withdrawn now), and it has grown from there.
