he's clearly mario from the famous mario brothers and he's arguing with luigi about the importance of collecting the gold coins or getting to the princess in time. in his virtual game he has a tube in his living room that he slides down and collects the gold coins in his basement. the gold coins are very importance because at 100 coins you get a free life, and since the gold coins are scattered everywhere throughout the game they are free of charge. not to mention you can't buy anything with the damn things either.

at least that's what i got out of it.

i should add that the princess thinks the guy is freaking nuts and gets ticked off for debating the importance of gold coins or her saftey and dumps him for the dragon.
