I think that only adults must play for money, it doesn’t matter whether it is poker or roulette in a casino.

As long as they aren't gambling for money, of course. Especially for kids, they can play for candy, etc. that way they can learn how to play for fun. Also, playing for fake money is okay. But they should wait until it is legal in whatever country, before playing for real money.

Hello.
I believe that gambling can only be played from the age of 18, without any exceptions.

Playing recreational, yes, I think minors would enjoy playing. They could also improve on their skills. As far as gambling, no, they need to be 21 before they gamble.

The only way that minors should be allowed to play online poker is if it for freeroll. Even then there shopuld be some sort of limit about how long they can play per day and per week. Not sure how that could be done. Otherwiese they should not be allowed to play at all.

well i dont view poker as gambling . but it has potential to be abused as gambling if you are not careful . therefore i think people who have a personality that is prone to gambling and addiction in general should stay away from poker . and minors should not play poker at all . if it was up to me i would prohibit poker for people under the age of 21

Under 18 no online gaming. It is way to easy to lose big money and fast. Teenagers are by nature more willing to take risks. also have no own income in most cases.

I played poker and I was only 16 years old so I don't think experience will hurt but gambling is only allowed from 18 years

partly yes agree, partly no, stem poker can be useful for minors in developing thinking, in many cases also in decision making, but not in the fact that even a minor can play for money, it can be dangerous for his future if he can't the money, if you possibly learn to handle the money in addition to playing poker and hand it over you may not even be an obstacle to the game.

I think this questions has two parts:
1. Should minors be allowed to play the game poker?
2. Should minors be allowed to gamble?

1. Absolutely. Poker, like any game, can be played for money or just for fun. I don't think we should ban it as a game just because it is associated with gambling. A lot more people lose their savings by day trading stocks than playing poker, so should we also ban lessons on finance from classrooms? I think poker can be very good at teaching kids about logic, decision making and accepting what they cannot control (variance in poker).

2. Seems like a bad idea.

I think poker is an adult game. In general, gambling is dangerous, especially gambling is dangerous for children.

A clear no. Gambling for minors is very dangerous because they are still very unstable and very reckless.

So if you are in Peru youre also familiar with Tazos.
For those who aint, you buy cheap chips to get a round piece of cardboard to gamble with your friends.

Gamble is common for kids, but the problem of poker is the enviroment. If you are monitoring the kid and giving them a safe enviroment i cant see why not, but the overall enviroment for poker either online and in real life is not as welcoming. They have slots, roulette and other types of gambling that are not games per say. Also online and in real life is not uncommon to see drugs, either to boost the attention spam for long sessions or for recreative purposes.

In my country (Peru) I have a lot of friends who are under 18 and play poker creating false accounts in pokerstars ... I think it is a game that anyone should play but I respect that by terms and conditions they are prohibited

And to put it another way: "In my country (any) I have many friends under 18 and they buy alcohol using fake documents." In my opinion, then everything falls into place and there is no question of any resolution.
Poker is a gambling point Whoever says anything. Even adults in different countries are trying to protect themselves from casinos (and there are machines with cherries, berries and cartoon pictures, everything is so bright and funny) and, in particular, from poker. Because even adults are not always able to control themselves.

It should be illegal for minors to play online for real money and in casinos. The vast majority are not mature enough to handle the temptation to fall into excess.
The mature and disciplined will find ways around it and they may turn out to be the spearhead of the best players in the future.

Teaching Children anything is fine in a controlled environment, I taught my youngest Daughter how to play Black-jack before she went to Nursery Classes. Not! so she could beat the other kids in the playground, but it helped her to learn how to Count, the cards were colourful, and she was able to add the shapes together (Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds and Spades) and she became good at counting.
At Christmas she was always allowed a Snowball drink ( Advocaat, and Lemonade) so she didn't feel excluded from what all the Adults around her were doing, and Today she is a responsible drinker because it was never a Taboo subject.
When Children are told you cannot do this or that, because you are too young, makes it all that more appealing and adventurous, So you have to teach children by example.
Now when it comes to playing Poker, I have nothing against teaching them how to play, but it is Important to explain why they will not be allowed to play, by law. the same reason here in the U.K. they are not allowed to drink alcohol until they are 18. (21 in the States) the Government decides at what age they become a responsible Adult and can decide for themselves.
The strange thing is, here in the U.K.is they are not allowed to Vote, Drink or Gamble until they are 18, but they can Marry and have kids of their own at 16.
The Law of Mum and Dad is very different from the Law of the Land.

When the fun Stops, STOP!

Unfortunately money is not "just money" therefore minors should be strictly forbidden.

Thread: Do you think poker should be suitable for minors?

I do not think that minors should play this game since they are not emotionally trained to face all the emotions that playing this game entails
