More fore instincts, as you can only trust math at 100%. Even 1% can be fatal.

You can have good instincts, good math, position, but when you play against idiots that accept all in in the blind with j10 for example, starts a casino party. The good thing is that idiots disappear in a short time, and you keep your game in the long period.

I try to rely primarily on math, especially when making basic decisions like ranges, pot odds, and expected value.
But in real games, instincts play a very important role.

It depends a lot on how faceup people are playing. Some people just play their hands without considering table dynamics. It's pretty safe to throw the math in the bin when someone is being very obvious.

We all do it sometimes, but the difference between a winning player and a losing one is playing mostly based on instinct.

Poker is math, not instinct. That's what matters in the long run.

I don't usually do calculations during the hand.
I rely more on experience and on some odds that I already know, such as flush draws and similar situations. Over time, you end up getting used to these situations.
Sometimes I also trust my instincts, but I try not to rely on them alone. I feel more comfortable when I recognize the situation instead of trying to calculate everything.

I wouldn't say instinct, I'd say observation of a particular player. I like to watch the actions of other players even when I'm not in the hand in question, so I see what they're doing at the table.

I try to be guided by mathematics. But in poker, nothing is more deceiving than mathematics. I have been betrayed more times than intuition. But if I only trusted my intuition, I wouldn't be a good player.

You have to play with mathematics but since this is a game where you lie a lot with the cards in your hand then you also have to play trusting your instincts.

I trust mathematics much more than instinct, but I don’t eliminate intuition; I refine it.

I would trust instinct and mathematics equally 50/50 playing live poker.

I would trust mathematics over instinct more 80/20 playing online poker.

My instincts are generally based on mathematics. That is, I first analyze mathematically and then I must make a decision based on that analysis, where my “instincts” together with logic help me to make it.

I think you should always rely more on the math, especially if that means playing as close to GTO as possible. But you also need to adjust, since not everyone plays the way they should, and that’s what makes exploiting them tricky. So you should trust both, but always lean more on logic rather than impulses or gut feelings.

Math most of the time but occasionally a JDLR ( Just Doesn't Look Right) situation presents itself. At which point I will go with my instincts.

Mathematics and our instincts are actually very closely related. Sometimes a decision that you might consider instinctive may actually be a logical decision based on our natural mathematical abilities.

I don't think it's a good idea to follow your instincts when playing poker, in the long term you won't make money, poker is a long-term game, of studying, and play in many tournaments to overcome the variance, it's normal to have a couple of months of losing money, even the best players lose money, but in the long term they make money for a reason.

After a long time practicing based on best practices and calculations, it flows almost automatically, through intuition or feeling.
