Right now my winnings represent a little bit less of 25% of my salary... when I get the other 25% I will quit my job and become a professional poker player :)

I can only wish that my poker earnings matched my salary. I've read on this thread that someone said if they were unemployed than their earnings would match their salary but in my case the money that I get paid for unemployment would eclipse my poker earnings as well.

Hello, are you able to earn the salary you work for at poker?

This is why i laugh at the players who say "LOOK AT MY STATS, IM A GOOD PLAYER"
and they playing a .25 cent game or a freeroll. I employ really tight money management so i am able to make profit and lose as little as a ican. It also helps to win a tourney a two a week.

Forget NOOO by far at least I play poker for a hobby and hobbies

Many times if you do not control it, it can even be harmful since you can lose up to a whole salary and I know several friends who happened to them, not being able to bank that lost in such a way I think it will have happened to many

No not even mininum wage in the long term
of couse here and there I score
best night I can recall is buying in for the min $30
@ the local indian casinos 3-6 fixed limit and
walking away with five racks of $1 chips :D
and to clarify a significant portion was obviously running well combined with in house promotions and not tipping🤷*♂️
break even is or close to is usually my norm here or lose alot:mad:
my most recent activity was a treefiddy buy in on US freindly site after 3 days roughly 1k/of hands
playing .50¢ spin and go 3max splashed in with a bit of zone 5nl reached about $16 before losing it all in a 1hr sesh
I still plan on playing one day for 50k on the table:icon_joke
GL all , thanks for reading

Not in a million years, I do not play poker to live off the winnings, I play purely for the love of the game.
That is why I rarely go on tilt! and I certainly don't miss the money when I lose.
All the cash I win goes into my bankroll and I have never deposited cash in any site, this means I cannot withdraw any winnings as the site's do not have my bank details.
Poker for me is a past-time, a hobby, some thing I enjoy but once you start to try and win a salary the fun goes out of the game and the game becomes work.
Done enough work over the years, I am retired now and it is time for me to relax and have fun.

In my country, what I win in poker, it would take months of work to match it. It is profitable for me to play Poker, but how I live ... inflation ate the value of money in my country!

When I had no life...

I used to play on Cereus and was getting close to the end of a long steps series when Black Friday Hit. I had a decent stack of Step 7 tickets to play out 12-15 (forget exactly) It is fair to say I got screwed by government out of a full time paycheck in 2011 as a result of this. Step 8 was where the $ payouts started. Step 10 was a 10k poker package with 4k spending cash. This soured me to the game for many years, but I am starting to get over it.

Hi, I'm from Venezuela, our salary here is not worth anything. All the time, I earn more than my salary playing poker.

Not even close.
However, I have not put any $ in, so I'm on house money.

Trying to work it up to a decent bankroll, but it is not easy.
