Does the Best Player Always Win?

Does the best player always win?
Simple answer is, no. Even a mug player can get lucky and beat a top pro. But over the medium to long term, one would expect the better players to win more often.

As for winning 7 out of 10 times, that's a very good average. Keep up the good work.

The best players will win more than they lose in the long run. But, they don't always win because everyone will run into bad beats and unlucky suck outs every now and then. But, just winning at least 60 percent of the time is good enough.

The best player does not always win, but when he wins, he compensates for all losses before that. If winning exceeds losing, then this is really the best player I think.

An old TV show called "The Big Game" shows how an unprofessional player can do well at a table full of pros. There is a bit of luck involved in the game, there's no denying it, but the ability makes a difference too.
I believe the best player doesn't always win, but I believe that in tournaments normally, he will always be in the prize bubble.

friend, if at that age you have been playing this way, I think you should try to improve more and possibly become a professional player, keep always humble and never think you are the best player in the mundo.boa luck.

I think that the best player cannot always win. Poker is not chess where all moves are miscalculated for the lead and there is no average mathematical probability. In poker, after hitting the next card on the table, you decide what to do next. And there are as many accidents as you like. So to win very often will not work.

It is unlikely that you have reached the level of professional poker players. But it is commendable that you already think in terms of a professional poker player at such a young age. I wish you to achieve a high level of poker.
In poker, a lot depends on luck, but your professional level gives you the opportunity to win more often than an ordinary player.

As a young player I think that's awesome your starting early. I wish I could say that....

As for the "best always winning".... no, matter of fact, in todays game, since it's such a statistics based game today. Doug Polk actually stated, "In todays game, based off my measured sample size I've concluded that you could play perfect poker. Never making a single mistake, and there is still a 30% chance you will be a losing or break even player."

I can also contest. I just finished up a 5 part study series where we reviewed every hand of my 10th (Final Table Bubble) where I played almost perfect poker. Over the entire 5, 2 hour sections I missed a total of about 8 spots in total....

Being 6th in chips with 10 left, I was dealt AA.... to make a long story short. I took a nasty beat from a player that called my open with 54o, and hit 2 pair.... and even that hand I lost I still played it correctly.... causing me to go bust....

So I hope that answers that question.

Of course the best player doesn't always win. I've seen KK crack AA in an all in preflop several times ( in live games).

The biggest problem with being the best player at the table is thinking you deserve to win. A lot of people will point to variance/luck to say that the best player doesn't always win, but the fact of the matter is you even without a downswing you can still lose against a table of all lesser players. Because poker has to take people into consideration. And people are different. Yes, you may place the perfect bluff bet on the river, but if 1 out of 8 players decides they're willing to gamble then you're screwed.

In poker it takes knowledge and skill to win long term with that added essence we call luck. The cards we're dealt and runouts we get are completely out of our control, where the luck factor comes in. What we can control is how we play the hand we're dealt, we have decisions and our number one objective is to make the best decision possible with the limited information we have available. Will bad players beat good players? Yes! Anyone can win in poker with any two cards, it's the best 5 of 7 cards, not best 2 cards. Better to be lucky than good.

I think that no one can win in 100% of cases. A good player wins as much money from his opponents as possible with good cards and loses as little as possible money with bad cards.

I think you must wait for another couple of years to enter into poker arena. There is a 18+ requirement for playing anywhere.
Winning 7 out of 10 is a good result but i don't know, how you were allowed to play and how you cash out without fulfilling the age requirement? There are legal bindings.

100% \ 0% is set in poker, this is very rare! most often you exhibit (if you play well) having from 50% to 80% to win, therefore there are always chances to lose, and even if you are the best player you will lose all the time, but you can only win by the number of tournaments if you play well and win a lot in 2 -5 tournaments will cover the buy-in of 10 or more tournaments!

The best player does not always win, although he wins more than his opponents uf he is the best one out of all of them. There is to much of a luck factor in poker for the best player in the room to win all the time. He or she has definitely a way better chance of winning, but the luck factor will come into play about 30 percent of the time.

There is a lot that goes into this equation. The short answer is that poker varies and strange things can happen. The better player does not win all the time, its just the way poker is. The better poker poker should pull ahead overtime.
