What do you think it means : no sportswear
on a live poker tournament ?

No shorts, T-shirts, hats with propellers on top, such stuff, just call & ask if you are planning on playing.

I do not mind the clothing but hate people that have not attended to their personal hygiene.

I think T-shirts are allowed and wouldn't be a problem, unless it might be really offensive to other players.
What I understand as sportswear is Adidas tracksuits that a lot of people in Eastern Europe and Russia love

It's bad. Poker=freedom in all sense, including closes that you wear today. Don't allow to tell yo what you must wear.

Just call and ask. Neat looking comfortable clothing is probably fine. Probably no athletic shorts or shirts without sleeves.
