I think all this is very silly ... it is very difficult for you to identify a tell, and even then, it is worse to put this information in your favor ... poker has other aspects more reliable at the time you need to seek information ... Wearing a hat sometimes only disturbs you, and makes you more inclined to tilt ...

I've never been in my local casino, but their web site says:
Guest are not allowed to enter casino if wearing coat, jacket or sweatpants.

(That's for casino as a whole, not for poker)

I always recommend wearing layers of clothing. casinos tend to be cold, so make sure you're dressed for comfort. You don't want to be thinking about what you're wearing because you are too cold or too hot. You want to be as comfortable as possible.

comfortable is the key, esp. if you're playing a tourney. i say wear whatever as long as it's tasteful. i have never did the suit thing, my wardrobe is either my bengals jersey and jeans or tshirt with my batman hoodie and jeans

I think everyone should be forced to wear a mask signifying what type of player they are, either donkey or snail, and everyone should be naked otherwise.

Where I play one Casino does not allow hoodies and the other does. I find the people that make a stink about the no hoodie rules usually have the beats headphones,sunglasses and are busy texting in between hands. It says a lot about you if you show up looking like a slob.

Agreed. Poker has an image problem that reflects negatively upon the public's perception of poker as a legitimate game of skill.

As such, a player's appearance can positively or negatively impact the perception in the public's eye that poker is gambling and not a game of skill, which negatively impacts efforts to legalize and regulate the game.

I've no problem with dressing causally or in what ever way you want to project your image at bar poker or casino tournaments etc but when the cameras are on, what you wear matters with respect the the game's legitimacy in the eyes of the viewers.

Projecting a sophisticated look will serve the game in the long run. Dress for success.

With all the time that you are at the table in a tournament (sometimes hours and days). If I could not dress comfortable then I would not play that tournament for sure. Dress codes would just suck.

If you play live Poker, sunglasses are a must-have. Especially if others wear them, you should wear em aswell just to level the playing-field
