I'm not sure if Erik donates any of his winnings but I think you might be thinking of 'Barry Greenstein'. Barry has donated a lot of his tournament winnings to a charity that for underprivileged children. He has donated over $8 Million! (Wow!)
Barry is known for donating signed copies of his book to who/whom ever knocks him out of tourneys. Rumor is he mails you a copy of a test to make sure you read his book & if you fail the test he bills you for the book. ;)

May not answer the what has he done lately question but Barry has been a member of the Poker Hall of Fame since 2010. Just sayin.

There are many excellent long standing pros out there ...like Ivey , Hellmuth, Jason Koon, Alan Keating, Chris Moneymaker...
Just to name a few.
None of them have a GG contract....and all more relevant than Seidel
I beg to differ...Seidel is more relevant than a guy who got lucky winning the wsop Main Event once...and what has he done since? Keating and Koon are pretty good players who can't hold a candle to Seidel. Ivey is a great player, but has run afoul of some Macau casinos in his career. Hellmuth is also a great player who does not hold up well to the new kids on the block'' and Hellmuth lacks class...Seidel is one of the finest gentlemen and classiest guys on tour...and yes, he still wins.

Okay okay, you guy love Seidel.
Just not a big personality and rather boring. Which makes him irrelevant in poker at least to me :)

@Poker Orifice you made your point lol.
I stand corrected.

He still is boring , I rather watch Keating and Kabhrel fooling around with millions of dollars

Chris Moneymaker’s recent notable wins include an ACR poker online victory for over $191,000, an April 2025 Main Event title on his namesake tour at MGM National Harbor, and a massive 903,000 first-place score at the 2024 Triton Poker Montenegro GG Million

You didn't check hard. This took me 2 seconds

I always liked him. Still one of the best at the table and off the felt a quiet and nice human being.
You mean you don't prefer Martin Kahbrel?

When it comes to the top players and whether the relevant or not anymore I find a interesting aspect of that because let's be fair who here can name off most of the top ten players of all time or who's ranked in the top ten at this time I don't think there's many if any. When i was at the world series of poker this year i was lucky enough to meet one of the Greatest players of all time #2 on the money list Steven Chadwick. Now why am I Bringing this up? This is about Eric seidel and I know it lot of people will recognize Eric seidel even though he's not as a big name in poker anymore. I'm sure a lot of people here will know who Steven Chadwick is but The thing is you know how many people asked me who the hell I was talking to or when they saw the picture of us together asked the question who's that he is a relevant player in today's poker world and that's what the point of this is. Eric seidel It's not the biggest name in the world out there right now but he's still competitive and does very well where he plays and when he plays. He may not play the high rollers or as many tournaments as many of the younger players but that doesn't mean he's still not one of the best players out there. I sure as hell wouldn't bet against him if he were to make a final table and if he does make one that's great he is also semi retired now due to the new tax laws in the USA so you're not going to see him play as much but he's already made his millions.

Now here's an interesting question when it comes to are players relevant or not. How many of you have heard of this player Mikita Bodyakovsky. I'm willing to bet there's quite a few who haven't heard of him but yet do you realize he's one of the top four all time cashing players in tournament history. Players can be relevant based on many reasonings and ways so don't just discount a player because he may not be as well known or anything anymore.

I think some if not a lot of people don't think Seidel isn't relevant because unlike many and the majority of high stake players he goes about his business quietly, isn't flashy and doesn't want /seek out PR or the spotlight.

Cheers!!!

Your lack of respect for other posts that disagree with you shows your immaturity, or perhaps just plain stupidity...just thought I would get this in as my last post in this thread...my mama taught me not to fight a war of words with stupid people...nobody wins.

I agree with you. This player has been remarkably consistent throughout his entire career. He’s still winning bracelets — if I’m not mistaken, he won his latest one in 2026. By the way, he’s also a very good backgammon player and has even competed in the World Backgammon Championship.
