Hi,

I write my final year projekt about poker.
Here Befrager you find the questionaire. (The english version somtimes only runs with Internet Explorer)

The title of the thesis is: Questionnaire-based survey about the personalities, risk-taking attitudes and the expertise of poker players.

I hope the questionaire is now accurate (I'm not very good in poker, but the questionaire was checked by some poker experts - however there were lots of mistakes on the first run).

So if you find still some mistakes, I'm glad about your help!

Greetings
Dani

Done. There were a few amusing choices for the multiple choice part of the survey that I was oh-so-tempted to pick. :p

I aborted out of this mid 2nd page. Besides the fact that it was in German, it was ungodly slow, and required me to breakdown specifics about the variety of games I play. Borderline a bit to intrusive.

But more than anything it was the ungodly slow part. That, and I already did one of these this year.

Done.

Good questionaire overall, but since you asked us to point out any flaws, this:

The questions are heavily geared towards ring play. I didn't see an option for tournament play without rebuys....most of your options in that question (which do you play most often, with percentages) were either ring or rebuys.

I filled in the questionaire, BUT, and this is huge, I saw a lot of ways the results can have holes in them. I've prepared and answered a lot of these for my graduate studies in criminal justice (in the 19902) and I bristled when I read some. Why? Because they were too open ended (not narrow enough) and you couldn't draw a real quantifiable analysis from the answers because other questions AND additional questions would have given a proper result. I hate to be harsh...even if this is for an undergrad paper, your answers will not really be accurate. I know this is a hard thing to read, and for that, I really am sorry. But it will be worse if you try to present your findings. Because if anyone who has a masters or higher degree reads your questions, they will see what I saw and you will not pass your final project. That said, I'd like to buffer my comments with another one. I have no idea who will be reading and assessing your work; if it's not for a college, then they're fine. Also, I don't know what you are trying to prove or disprove. But from what I read, many obvious theories that jumped out at me from the questionaire couldn't be proven from the questions. Wish I knew more about this project and I wish it was all in English, I only speak English, Spanish and understand a smattering of Italian (as a result of my limited Spanish).
Your questionaire brought up more questions about what you are trying to prove or disprove, that I wonder if your instructors will feel the same way I do. Again, I am in no way trying to make you feel badly, but better I should tell you now, then they should prevent you from graduating. You should have several months to change and tighten up your questions.
YOu probablt can place the questionairre on all of the other poker forums online and hopefully get the people to be honest with you.
GL with this project! PM me if you want to.

I fpund some minor issues with your terminology in the game problems questions, probably due to vagaries in translation.

Hi,

thank you for your answers!

I know, it's not easy sometimes to answer the questions - but by the way this is because of the different poker know how. this is one of the toppics I see now the questionary runs for some time. You can nearly demonstrate the expreience of a pokerplayer the way he find it easy or difficult to answer the questionary.

I know it's still noch a perfect questionary, but perhaps it would be a second project to overwork this questionary with the results I reach from my paper - and start another final year project.

Some of the non-poker questions have an other hidden agenda, then you expect answering the questionary - so sometimes it seems to be confused, but since I can see for now it goes the way it should.

Thank you for your tips and filling the questionary

Dani
