Very good, but my question was for the first book and not the best poker information you've got, so I understand you had never read any book. No problem at all.

Really nice thread !
The first book I ever read is
Full Tilt poker strategy Guide Tournament Edition.
I "bought" it with my FullTilt Points.
I have the book in front of my OMG its seems outdated. Even when he was release he was outdated I guess.
That make me smile the note I took back in the day that make no sense to me anymore.

Ha, talk about nostalgia. My first one ever was Maverick's Guide to Poker. My roommate got it after he joined our weekly poker game.

I don't remember if the info was any good, but it opened my eyes to the fact there were strategies, and that people tried to improve.

My favorite poker book: Caro's Book of tells

Book that had the biggest impact: Lee Jones Winning Low Limit Hold'em

Game Theory.
Fiani, Ronaldo, 2004. (I consider it a bit classic)
This "ultra nerd" book, for those who like math and logic, is a recommended reading, even in some course courses.
I enjoyed talking nonsense about poker, but the pattern of precision cases exactly and study comparisons helps you sharpen your math and economic analysis.
As I said, it's really for those who like it, its heavy mathematical "vision" of things can come, but it requires a lot of will because it's okay and not everything reading is applicable.

Gosh, its hard to remember exactly what the first one was, but I think - pretty sure - it was Small stakes hold em by Ed Miller, David Sklansky, and Mason Malmuth.

Caro's Book of Tells is an excellent book, specially for those who play live poker!

Yeah sklansky book are great, I have the tournament expanded edition and its still a good book even if its was release more then 10 years ago.

By the way, if you want to buy poker books, take a look at if you don't mind buying used book. Sometime u get brand new book they probably bought in massive bulk and resell it (I bought Phil Shaw secrets of non-standard SNG and its was brand new)

I also suggest to take a look at there ebay pages , since you can feedback the seller, they sent the best looking one. I am waiting for Collin Moshman, Heads Up Strategy, they said used very good condition for $13 canadian dollars with shiping.
Iam canadian and even with higher shipping charge you can get books at $10-12 that look great.
