Based on the betting sequence I was pretty sure my opponent had me beat with an Ace on the board. ( I knew he had one). So when the board paired 6’s I decided to represent it and shoved…he called and I lost. I was right that he had an Ace…he also had the 6.

Oops! 😅

In one of only 3 live poker tourneys I've ever played in I'm down to 11 BB in the big blind. Button min raises as she had done every time when folded to her. I jam in with KQs and she flips AA I bust out and she rolls Her eyes and says "Nice Hand" while smirking. I replied " I'm short and I've seen you raise with anything" she said "Whatever noob!" I couldn't do anything but laugh and walk away.

Between the mind games and misreads during a poker game, whether live or online, there must be a funny moment that stands out to you.

What is the funniest moment you have witnessed during a poker game online or live?
That's a tough one because I've played so many hands both online and live in the last ~15 years and I've seen so many interesting/ funny moments... it might be this one as it was (IMO) both funny and ironic: I always advised my friends, until it got annoying LoL, not to get 'smart' and leave just a few chips behind when playing online as the internet back then wasn't that stable(~2010) and you can get unlucky and lose the hand because of a 'random' disconnect... but I've never followed this advice- I always went for the best internet provider and the best/ highest option available and at that time I've played mostly from PC with LAN connection, so I've thought I'm 'safe' until I wasn't LoL and it happened in a pretty important MTT when it was close to the bubble and instead of shoving AA for like 20BBs vs. an open and a call- I've decided to 3bet leaving behind like 0.1BB... my internet went off and I had mobile connection available but it wasn't hotspot like nowadays, instead it was with a modem and sim or something(I can't remember the exact process but it was with USB cable and it took a bit longer to connect to it than nowadays with hotspot)... to make it short, I was back just in time to see that I would have won the hand and triple up with a great chance to finish at the top and not just ITM, instead I was forced all in the next hand and bubbled it... tbh it was a small price to play to learn a valuable life lesson- the advice you give to other people is the advice you need to follow :)

GLGL & HF at the tables everyone!

Poker has been a source of lots of fun in my lifetime, but one of the best was when I played the wsop Ladies Championship event for the first time in 2014. In 2014, I was playing in a live ladies league in Northern California. In the spring, a large group of us went to Reno to play in the LIPS Nevada State Ladies Championship event. It was my first time traveling for poker and I met so many wonderful new friends there, including some well known players such as Karina Jett and Linda Johnson. One of the women I met ran an online league which I joined. I won about $1200 in that league and decided to use the money to play in the $1000 WSOP Ladies Championship in Las Vegas. I was so excited to be there and enjoyed every minute. At one point in the day, there were 3 other women that I had played with in that online league (including 2 from Canada...what a small world)! It was so much fun to meet them in person and share my excitement and wonder of being there. We all played together for several hours and I made it to the very last level of Day 1. I am still friends with all of them and I will always cherish this memory. Thanks for getting me to write about it, CC!

Oops...I may have misinterpreted the question so I will add to it (although I want to keep my original since it meant a lot to me). I think the funniest thing I have seen was someone with an implement of some kind that he used to clean his ears while at the table. It was funny and also gross!

Live poker moments are so much funnier than online haha between the misdeals, stories, etc.

Good tunes & company make it the most fun

Seeing people's reactions and faces when you lay down a straight, flush or set that they don't expect makes playing poker worth it

Saw a guy at a live casino cash game whip out a full laptop right there at the table. Not off to the side, not in the lounge, but sitting directly across from the dealer in full view of everyone.

He was dressed head to toe in designer gear with chunky gold chains and a fresh salon haircut. The whole high roller look. It honestly took every ounce of self control not to roast him on the spot.

Imagine stacking chips with one hand and working a spreadsheet with the other. The vibe was somewhere between day trader, poker influencer, and IT help desk.

Wow that is something! I feel like there is a follow up, or did no one of the staff reprimand him for using an electronic device while playing?

Guy went all-in with a pair of 2s, yelled 'Pocket rockets!' - then realized he misread his hand and facepalmed so hard the table lost it.

Odd things happen quite often.
Like AA on one table twice in a row only to be followed by it on a completely different table at the same time.
Last memorable instance.

funny moment - when you have a 667 flop after a raise and call preflop, I raise, get reraised, call, Raise on the turn, I reraise, get called, raise on the river, I call, we show both our cards having KKs and were happy sharing :)

One of the funniest things in poker, for me, is the “law of bad timing” — when you really need to leave the table, but you can’t just sit out and leave your stack there. The “logical” option is to shove all-in, but of course you don’t want to do it with total garbage, so you pick some decent mid-range hands… even though the goal is just to bust and go. Poker players are strange creatures like that. In 2016, my wife had just given birth and later let me go play a live tournament at a local club. The game was going well, and I thought it would end around 2 a.m., but she called asking me to come home sooner. Since the buy-in wasn’t big, I told the table I’d shove every hand to finish quickly. Ironically, I won my first two all-ins, and everyone started joking that it was some genius table strategy. Eventually, I busted with a flush draw against the chip leader, wished everyone good luck, and managed to get home on public transport. Sometimes when you want to leave, poker just won’t let you go.

...the funniest moments are when a player goes on FULL TILT... or personally when they insult me at the table for my aggressive play...

in my opinion it always more funny @live poker, online poker isnt that funny because most players dont communicate during online poker except emoticons or similiar.
So my funniest moment @live poker was a private poker tournament with 9 or 10 players after a barbecue, so it was very late and a bit dark for outside poker in the middle of a garden and rare lights, when only 4 players were left and it was really early in the morning, about 4.30 or 5 am, the small blind player was already sleeping and we didnt wake him up, so we played the round without him and after 3 or 4 mins he woke up and asked who is next? Afterwards we make a deal because 3 of us had an equal chip stack and it was easy to come to an end, or probably another one would have fallen into deep sleep :).

I wouldn't say that it was funny moment especially for me but may be it sounds funny.

I was playing a Mystery Bounty tournament with a $215 buy-in, and that day I had a flight late in the evening (booked a long time ago). Unfortunately, the airline was too cheap to offer Wi-Fi. I was worried that if I went deep in the tournament and it was time to board, I wouldn’t be able to keep playing.
So I started playing with only a few hours left until boarding, and the less time I had before departure, the riskier I played. I was going all-in almost every hand and I’m sure nobody at the table liked me lol.

Long story short, I made it into the money and won around $500, which wasn’t too bad.

I think the funniest thing that happened was when playing live and 5 people at the table, we all 5 go allin and all 5 have a pocket pair. That was pretty cool. We all stood up as it was dealt out. It wasn't me, but pocket AA actually won it! (as it should be)

When playind live and someone is almost drunk.
He is playing hilariously silly and its so easy to read his game.
I almost feel pity those times but afterall, it is his conscient choice

Action folds around to small blind who checks his cards. Big blind only had 2 big bets behind. The player in the big blind says to small blind, before checking his cards '' It's ok to fold a bad hand''. Table laughs. Small blind shoves. Big blind calls, shows his cards: AA. Wins the pot. It was kind of funny.

A fun moment is when the table is turned around, a player is winning and loses everything on the last card.

Ah, those times, it's the final stage of the badbeat, when I'm close to losing all my dollars and I can't stop playing, it's the most dangerous stage in poker, when sadness and laughter are mixed, I get sad when I lose and laugh when I lose too, they are painful blows that make me laugh especially when I lose in a row with strong hands or lose even if I am max on the flop.
It's a real feeling that makes me laugh at myself because I know I'm going to lose with the strongest hands and the best position at the table but I keep playing and losing.

The funniest moment for me was being able to throw shots at my opponents after being eliminated from the table.

Well, I don't play life, where most probably the most funny stories can potentially happen. But as for on-line playing I always smile when I bluff with low-equity cards, the opponent calls with good cards (so, basically the bluff fails) and I am lucky to get the card on turn or river, making me winning. Not sure if it is really fun (probably isn't for the opponent) but well, it is also what poker is about.

The funniest moment for me was online, I mistakenly called an all in for my tournament life on the bubble with J 8 offsuit, mistakenly pressed the button call button. Was up against AA and I was already closing my App because I thought I was done for, but ended up spiking a Q on the river and made my straight. Funny and crazy to be honest
