Getting donks to pay you off

Been looking at a new theory.

When the pot has been raised and it is a decent size and you hit a hand.

Taking a long term to bet seems to make donks call more. Perhaps they see potential 4 outers and go for them rather than insta folding with the air that they actually have.

Has anybody got any thoughts?

Whereas betting faster doesnt give them time to look at the board in search of outs.

According to Sklansky, you are not supposed to give your opponents time to put you on a hand. So you are right on to do the opposite, especially in trickier situations, and give yourself and everyone else on the table time to put your opponents on hands.
