Well here is a small trip report!
First off I can say that my cash game keeps improving!!!!! However my will to leave when ahead still isn't there. I sat down at the 1/3 NL table at around 6pm with a full buy-in ($300). Showed the table that I was ready to pay and started off aggressive. First hand in I get 78 of clubs and flop a straight. After about two hours I left for an hour with money on the table (At Hollywood you get an hour and a half before they pull your chips from the table, and from what I heard from the regulars they normally never pull your chips). I left the table to go see my wife in the room. She isn't old enough to get in there yet so she drank in the room while I did my thing at the poker table. I get back and there are two new faces at the table. A few
hands in I get 67o and raise on the button. Flop comes A59 rainbow. First to act bets pretty big (I think around 50 bucks) I'm open ended and hope I get either my 4 or my 8, turn comes an 4. Guy bets $50 again, I pop it to 110 he calls. River comes a 3, he pushes I insta call and flop over the straight. He shows an Ace for top pair.
After a few more hands I'm up to $1,000 and I left again to go see what my wife was up to and take a short break. I get back and a few more hands in I get KK. I raise $14 pre-flop and get 5 callers. Flop comes Q27, guy bets, folds down to me I raise he calls. By the turn we are all in and he has Q2 of clubs and his two pair beats my KK which really put me on tilt. I mean you call with Q2 pre-flop on a $14 raise...... WOW!!!! Two hands later I'm broke with 77 when I flop a set and JJ called my all in and spiked his set on the turn!
I was a little disappointed that I didn't leave when I said I was going to. After going back I was going to play to the button once maybe twice and ended up getting screwed in the end.
I went back the next morning after a nap and ended up breaking even for the trip. I'm happy with that, but should have walked away with a nice profit!
There is always next time!!!
