the golden rule

Whatever happened to the golden rule of life... are we as a society that mean and vindictive that weseek out to constantly attack our fellow person... be it verbal or physical???feels like we are regressing .......i got my caveman club formed already...

The best way I know to change society is to become what we want society to be. I mean, if you want others to be nice then you have to be nice to others. I have taken that to try and allow other cars into my lane during heavy traffic. Or to say hi to the security guard at the bank. Or thank the bag boy at the grocery. I know they are all little things, but its those little things that really can make a difference. There have been many times when I have been in a foul mood in the past, when someone else has done something small for me. When its a nice small thing all of a sudden I feel 20 times better. When its a small bad thing I tend to go into a much deeper funk.

Thanks for raising a very important issue up in today's world. May you have many good days to come.

Weekend of insanity- birthday party lasted most of the weekend for teens sweet 16. With a house full of teens I nearly went into shock when 1 xalled me ma'am. I almost instinctively corrected her- they always do on TV, right? My sister later laughed and said it must have made me feel old but I don't think that's what it is...after 2 hours of all of them that was accomplished as good as it got! I think it just felt odd to me. For goodness sake, I'm about as South as the US gets, but we just don't hear it much anymore. And the whole chivalry is dead thing when the guy rushes through the doorway before the girls??? My daughter is right, more often than not lately IF someone tries it results in so much confusion we just lose a bra size in the resulting crush. So guys rest assurred when you really want to keep a younger woman off kilter- the manners will work every time. We have no idea what to do with them anymore!
