I believe a few members rate 'Molly's Game' as the best poker related movie ever- it has been discussed before but bears mentioning again.
I think many poker movies whilst entertaining are often too contrived and this would range from Bond movies to Rounders. I noted before I had the 10th anniversary edition of Rounders on my computer for some years but then deleted it. It's an entertaining rip the first time or two you watch it but then it does not hold up - the poker scenes and plot lines are somewhat ridiculous and even the acting looks hammy after a few screenings.
If you want to watch something cool about poker then one Finnish member of Cards Chat,
Hutzpaf, linked through to a Finnish documentary series (English subtitles) largely based around Patrik Antonius. It called
Last Call and has four episodes. It was truly excellent and several members watched the entire series and raved about it. There is a second series scheduled for the fall.
Here is the second episode which features Patrik Antonius and is a deeper dive into Patrik Antonius life, his beginnings and then success in poker than you have seen anywhere else.
