The great player Vanessa Selbst - myth or truth

In the last PCA edition there was much noise about the great play of the Poker Stars Pro Vanessa Selbst. I was looking for her game and did not find any great play from her. Even she had too much luck, that if I was her I would be ashamed from that. I am very happy that she did not managed to take any title from PCA, although she did an enviable profit of almost 1,5 M$.
Can anybody post some marvelous hands of Vanessa so I can stop feeling like she is an artificial player, who Poker Stars are trying to make a good advertising with.

For me she is one of the best players in the world,and the results are there 9,5 million in live tournament earning.

Yeah, I don't get the hate she gets. She may be a bit ****y at times but her results speak for themselves - she's a great aggressive player who isn't scared to play for it all

I guess she is but there is no proof for that. When you type in youtube "Vanessa Selbst strong play" the first video is that:

Do you call that strong play?
If this is her strong play what is her bad play?

9,5 M$ is very large sum, but getting in mind that she is playing the highest stakes I don`t think this is something excellent.

You don't think $9.5 is excellent? You obviously have a lot more money (or much higher monetary expectations) than most.

Love Vanessa Selbst. She's one of my favourite players.

Wow - almost $10 million in winnings is not much??? It is a lot more than most professional poker players can claim.

Can you just not accept that a female is an amazing poker player? Because she clearly is.

Using the reason of not being able to find what you think is a "strong play" by searching youtube is just lol.

I've not seen her play much but from what I've heard she is one of the best players in the world.

I am not saying that 9,5 M$ is little. But her ROI is not so big - a little more than 600 000 for buy-ins (and that is only for the tourneys she won, I can`t find the whole statistics). for 9 626 169 winnings is about 1600 % for 5 years. There are many players that make the same or even more online for 1 year, but why they are not "in the lights".
I will agree with all of you if you post any of her hands where she did not won by luck, or where she folded KK postflop due to a read of her opponent`s cards.

Your reasoning seems ass-backwards. She can play big buyin tournaments because of the money she has won over the years.

I've played against Vanessa quite a bit. She's very smart, very observant, and generally makes good reads/plays.

She literally played the first hand perfectly, then the 2nd she bluffed into the nuts

Thing is, if you look you can find bad examples from every player. You can make Phil Ivey look like the biggest luckbox donk in the world if you just cherry pick a few bad hands to show people. The wsop one where he folded the winning hand would be top of my list if I wanted to do that.

With regard to Vanessa Selbst, her track record obviously speaks for itself. You don't win as much as she has (keep in mind too that $9.5m is just her live tournament earnings - it doesn't take cash games or online into account) without being a great player, plain and simple.

Yeah 9.5m in earnings is a lot, I wish I had that kind of record.

Honestly I thought she isn't good player as well when I checked her out on youtube, but she was 2nd on super highroller, top 50 in the main event and 3rd In highroller and to me it doesn't get much more impressive than that so I'd say she's legit

it wasn't clear, but I wasn't questioning you. Anyone who has achieved multiple big cashes with a total approaching $10 million is clearly a great player.
