I can easily focus on the game if I'm home alone. Silence helps me concentrate more than anything else. But I have to say that my concentration directly depends on my mood. If I'm in a bad mood, I don't play with much focus and I don't make very good decisions at such moments.

Both water and silence are helpful for a good session.

I just concentrate on my poker, no music, no alcohol, no distractions. This works best for me.

Don't watch TV, don't watch your cell phone, don't do other things while watching or playing poker.

Desire to win?!

I don't mind music, tv/movies/ crowded room, nothing can distract me easily...

Breathing techniques help a lot in all kind of situations - not just in poker! 😉

So that no one distracts you, and you need to eat well, then everything will work out.

I try to start out with with food, hydration, and caffeine and then minimize distractions.

I also think the better shape you are in the easier it is to maintain concentration.

Good lighting, no distractions, and lo-fi beats in the background. I also take a 5-minute break every hour to reset. Helps me stay sharp and not chase losses.

This varies a lot from person to person. For me, what improves my focus is listening to relaxing music and playing games.

Have a good night of sleep and avoid to have any heavy meal before playing, because, at least for me, if I don't do both, I usually get sleepy during the game.

An hour before the session starts, being alone and not talking to anyone helps you focus

When playing I always like to put on some music or a series to watch so I don't get bored, I think I play better that way because I don't get so anxious.

Play when not tired. Play at a time of day that suits you. Keep hydrated. The not to get distracted by electronic devices. Watch you opponents for their playing style and history at the table.

In order to play with focus, I have to have a good rest before the game. Alternatively, if I have time, I can take a nap for an hour before evening tournaments. This kind of rest has the best effect on me and after this ‘pre-preparation’ I play more focused and more patient.

When I really want to focus, I only watch the tables — but usually at the start of a tourney, when I’m card dead, I’ll throw on some anime

Music helps me zone in—mostly low-fi or instrumental. I take a 5-min break every hour to reset. Also, no phone at the table!

To stay focused at the poker tables, it’s important to build habits that sharpen your mental clarity and minimize distractions. These include getting consistent, quality sleep to keep your mind sharp; taking regular breaks during long sessions to reset and avoid fatigue; staying hydrated and eating light, nutritious snacks to maintain energy; removing distractions like phones or background noise; and practicing mindfulness or short breathing exercises to stay in the moment. Reviewing hands and results only after the session, not during play, also helps prevent emotional tilt. Lastly, setting specific goals for each session can give your play direction and keep you mentally engaged.
