I played in my 1st one this year. Finished 31st of 936 so did okay.

What do you plan on playing?

I used to love playing in them when they were not akin to an Online MTT with near 1000 players in many events. I would rather play at the Rio, but the Binion days were much cozier and better imo. Just a crazy mass of people now. I don't even dream of playing in the ME anymore, cause back in the "old days" it really seemed to be more like the World Championship. I would get the BUG again if they moved the buyin to like 50K or more to thin the field (Of course I can not afford the 10K but I would at least try to get in a 50K Event).

When I am in town during wsop I mostly play the lively cash games (and tournaments) around town (a lot of time spent at Ballys)

Simple solution: Play Binion's Classic main event.....

I think the last time I even went downtown (other than for a drive-by viewing) was for the WSOP...I don't miss it (downtown)

Never played in the WSOP games at the RIO. I have played in WSOP circuit events. My best finish was 10th place out of 125 players. $280 buy in. I won $300 for my efforts. I will be playing in the WSOP Circuit Event at Foxwoods this spring.

I have never played a WSOP event yet. I was planning on playing this last season but some things came up, Although I will be playing in the circuit main event at Caesars Palace in February. Hopefully some of the bracelet events as well.

I played in '05 in one of the $1500 events, didn't get very far.

didn't really do much of anything tbh, i just played cos other people i knew were playing. was on the last few days of a 3 week holiday and was running real well in cash games.

CAsh games were much more profitable than tournaments. at events like that players are coming in from long haul flights and seeing their buddies and jumping in games, so easy to pick em off when they are tired and lagged from the flights.

but ill go back and play more events, when i get the time.

I have never played in it but I would think if we are all here wouldn't we all aspire to be there at some point. I know I do. Play against the greatest of the greatest instead of these online donks. Sorry but I'm so down to play the main event. Hell it's on my bucket list.

Last time I was downtown I got us kicked out of one of the places, and then my friend got us booted from the El Cortez...I believe some alcohol was involved though.

Yea - the $1k entry was steep for me too - but I had 2 friends who wanted me to play and they bought 35% of it. I was very happy to quadruple their investments for them.

I played in the Razz event 2008 it was only $1500 back then ($2500 now) and I was able to win entry from a $425 buy-in single table satellite. It paid for my entry and my trip. I only made it to the end of day one in the event.

It was kinda cool, I had Dewey Tomko and Ralph Perry at my table. Played with Kenna James, in the satellite and other pros in other satellites.

Give the satellite room a try, you can always sell the extra lams too if you earn them.

Was in 2011 WSOP event# 56 $1500 buy in, which I won entry/travel/accommodations package on PPN. It had around 3300 and I went out around 1200 with my KK going down to AK str8.. WTF RIGHT? LOL

PCA held at my current all-time favorite hotel/resort in the World. I recommend anyone who loves beach type/water animal life resorts to visit. I have been very lucky to visit many times since it was a single building. Just a fantastic 'out of this World' kinda place
