Hey everyone, I'm putting my five bucks on Diablo.
Well yeah of course they did. Why wouldn't they say that when they play other non-poker celebrities with less skill of the game?diabloblanco said:Twizzy, I also disagree. So do ALL the professionals that played in NBC's National Heads Up Championship. They all said what a great format it was and how the heads up competition was a great way of asessing skill. But what do they know, right?
While I am dissapointed that your in bed with the devil,I liked your comment about "going to the dogs". I wish I had thought of it first.bubbasbestbabe said:Mmmmmm, the devil in the details, or going to the dogs? Tough choice here but I'll have to say my money goes on Diabloblanco cause I'll always trust a tatooed blondie.
While you have made me a believer in your live play abilities, I find your lack of knowledge in on-line Heads-up encouraging. Heads-up matches are structured as tournaments, not ring games. So while the buy-in is $5.00+.25 (not .50, my bad), each player starts the match with 1500 in chips. The blinds start out at 10/20 and increase every 6 minutes. The action is fast and furious and most matches are over fairly quickly but i have been involved in some that have lasted more than 1/2 an hour. Contrary to what I suggested in my earlier post, best of 5 is probably the best format. Long enough to get an idea of eachothers abilities and short enough not to bore the gums off anyone who thinks this is more interesting than watching paint dry.diabloblanco said:Four dogs, so we are set on best of five then, or are we going to make it seven? .... And to play these matches is it $5.00+.50 each per match or what? Is there a way to play with a larger amount of "chips" than just a monetary amount of $5.00, even though the payout will remain just $5.00 per match? Also, how will the game be structured as far as the blinds/antes? I will leave all of this to you to set up however you see fit, and however you believe it to be most beneficial as far as entertainment for the railbirds etc.
This will be purely testosterone and whatever drugs Diablo needs to take to keep his hands from shaking.MicheleW said:Only problem with this kind of heads up is if one of you goes all-in every single hand - playing bully poker. It would be nice to see some hands played and not just testosterone flying about like so many men do.
It is like playing a basketball game 1 on 1 because you apparently missed this "Overall, many more skills are involved in regular tournaments"diabloblanco said:Twizzybop, only 2 of those could even remotely be considered anything but pro or semi-pro. Your argument still doesn't hold water.
I'm sorry I didn't post every single BIO on those players. Next time I shall just for complete 100% info.
Jerry Buss doesn't even really qualify as an amateur. So you have Celine Deon's old man, Dennis Wager, and James Woods.
Apparently you missed the wonderful EVELYN NG
I didn't know someone "New" to the game was considered pro or semi-pro.
Three people out of 64 people are non professionals, and out of those most would still kill anyone on this forum heads-up.
