Well, I just recently started keeping a notebook especially for poker. Some of the stuff I keep track of includes the sites I play on, scheduled freerolls, a list of sites (like cardschat and Pokerlistings) that I like to visit, account balances, winnings at my weekend home game, poker books I've read and books I want to read based on recomendations, finishes that I'm really proud of, and (thanks to this site) a list of other online card rooms that I'd like to check out. It's been really nice and helpful in keeping me organized, and I can see that my game has improved over time.

Anyway, anyone else do anything like this or have other ideas for entries?

Hold 'em Poker by Sklansky is a nice short read. No fat in those pages. Just the meat and potatoes of Hold 'em. It was written in the 70's and is a little out of date (which he admits in the forward). It's not really intended for tournament play and he recommends that the non pro's stay away from the No Limit form of the game. What other kind is there these days. Don't forget, this was long before the internet and Micro Blinds.

Well I keep records of every time I play, what site, what limit, how long for, profit (or loss).

They say you can't be a winning poker player unless you keep track of your wins and losses, if you don't it easy to fool yourself.

That said its been hard putting the big losses in and watching my bankroll total plumet, though after this weekend I am at an all time high (not really that high compared to what I could be at if I play properly all the time)

The only thing I don't add in there are if I play in our freerolls and place a non money finish.

Might be an idea if I kept note of what books I wanted though, so many that I have seen that I would like to read.
