Just remember you have the ability to hit the eject button at anytime by folding if you think you're on the raw end of something! My biggest tip would be to get used to variance, realise that it's just one hand and learn your outs and % of catching them! I always feel okay when I know "okay I have a 32% chance to improve my hand here which means I won't catch it most of the time but the price is cheap so I think I can continue here to find out"!
If you're talking about heating up as in being short stack 8 away from the bubble then you should read articles on those kinds of situations and look to get in somewhere as a favorite! I went in with this super loose player with Q10 and they called with Q8, they caught the 8 and I went busto but I still left knowing that even though I lost I still went in with the better hand! I went in a winner, anything after that was just unfortunate but I don't regret it!
The last thing I have to say about nerves is to maybe play in cheaper games! Manage your bankroll and if you're not afraid to lose the buy in you should feel more confident while playing! Also before playing maybe look at a poker video on YouTube to get you in the frame of mind to be excited about playing!

Try to calm down . But not always . Especially when the prizes get !

Take a deep breath, take a little walk, nervousness does not help at all.

I know when I get into a huge pot with someone, and I hit the flop hard, my heart starts pumping fast. The adrenalin is flowing fast and wakes me right up. I love the rush of winning a huge pot.
