If I'm stressed, I try to get distracted from poker, and occupy myself with something else, watch a movie, or play a game on the computer.

I just play poker if it's to win! if I've stress, whether at work, college or home, I do not even play because I know I will not think correctly

Imho if poker is stressful then you are playing with money that you cannot afford to lose.

If you play poker you can't avoid stress. You want to understand it, control it, keep it at nonmalignant levels. The easiest way to do this is to stay within your comfort zone. Discover your comfort zone where you feel at ease and don't let anyone push you out of it. And I also recommended to listen to soft music. It keeps the mind cool.

Totally agree!

I experience ZERO stress while playing poker. What's there to stress about? I've read a number of answers on here suggesting how stressful it is when you don't win anything in a tournament. Guess what... 85 to 90% of the players in a tournament do not win any money in THAT tournament. Guess what else, most players do not win money even in the longrun (they don't even break even).

How is playing a game, focusing on making optimal/good decisions stressful? I honestly don't understand where the stress comes into play? Also, how does 'taking time off' help with it? (as I've also seen regularly suggested).

I think that if the game does not go necessarily need a pause. Anything but the opposite of poker. Movie, music, nature walks.

I am particularly giving time to poker for personal reasons. I went to play with the mind in these reasons and ended up losing all my balance in account: /. If I play in this situation, I can stress quickly and throw all-in of anger. Good luck guys!

Some hands really do not get stressed out when you're winning and the river shows the opponent's only out, but it's game, whatever the variance, try not to get attached to the cards, and understand what happens. breathe in and start a new game hoping for it to be different.
