THE CORRECT WAY: 3 PRACTICAL STEPS

1. During the hand: Stay composed

  • Don’t react emotionally.
  • Calmly say:
"Show your hand, please." (live) Or use chat (online): "Please show cards."
  • If it’s extremely abusive, call the floor (live) or report (online).
Official rule (TDA #64): Player must show immediately if all-in and called.

2. *After the hand: Use the information to your advantage
The slowroller is usually:
  • Ego-driven
  • Mentally weak
  • Predictable
Action:
  • Mark them as a target (mentally or with HUD).
  • Apply more pressure in future hands (3-bet light, high c-bet).
  • They tilt easily when losing — exploit that.
  • Ex: They slowrolled with the nuts? Next time, thin value bet against them — they’ll pay light thinking they’re "getting revenge."

3. Long term: Turn it into an advantage

SituationStrategy
Live tableAsk the dealer/floor to speed up the game. Ex: "Can we keep the action moving?"
Online (PokerStars, GGPoker, etc)Use the "Call Clock" button if available. Report if recurring.
Important tournamentDon’t lose focus. One slowroll doesn’t define your result.

Is slow rolling online possible? I have played only 2 platforms - GG and WPT, but haven't noticed such thing possible.
Or is this topic related strictly to life poker?

If someone slow-rolls me, I just smile and move on. :p
At micros it happens all the time — some do it on purpose, some just play slow.
I try to take it as free mental training to stay calm under pressure.
Getting tilted only helps them, not me.

Honestly, I try to just smile it off. There’s no upside in getting tilted, it only gives the other person power over your mindset.

Again, what do you mean by slow rolling in online poker? I am not sure everyone here is on the same page.
Everyone has a clock and 100% right to use their time. It is definitely not a slow rolling.

I already get bored with the game when the blinds are at 10 minutes.
Then with the slow rollers it gets worse. I will go all in just to get out of there.
I do admirer the pros, I am always amazed at how cool and calm they remain, no matter what happens.

I get angry, but at the same time I try to calm down, and think about whether to match what I bet, or if I don't fight back, the important thing is to calm down.

It's normal because it's a very good strategy to show weakness when you're strong and let your opponent bluff you and profit from it. I do this too if the flop structure allows me to do so.

In online poker you can not delay showing your cards. So you can not perform the kind of slowroll, where for instance you hold :10s4::10c4: on
:ad4::jh4::10h4::2s4::10s4:, your opponent show :kh4::qh4: and say "I have a straight", and then you flip over :10s4: saying "I have a T" to make him think, he is winning against 3 of a kind. But then after a break you continue "and another T" showing :10c4: for 4 of a kind, which beat his straight.

But assuming, that your opponent jammed the river, and you are closing the action, you could still run down the clock and maybe type something in the chat like "Really??? Ok I call" before finally pressing the "call" button. And that would also be considered a slowroll, since obviously you know, that you are not folding the nuts. So you are just wasting everybodys time to make him think, he might win the hand, while in fact he is 100% sure to lose it.

OK, thank you. I see it can be technically possible in some situations, but so far I haven't noticed such case.
Anyway, I am under the impression that many people posting here do not understand, what slow rolling is, they refer just to someone running the clock/delaying their bet (and obviosuly it is in 99% not slow rolling)

I don't react to slow rolls at all. I only get a little nervous if I want to get to the big blind faster to get into the prize zone. I may use slow rolls from time to time to get into the prize zone too. :)
