| Live table | Ask the dealer/floor to speed up the game. Ex: "Can we keep the action moving?" |
| Online (PokerStars, GGPoker, etc) | Use the "Call Clock" button if available. Report if recurring. |
| Important tournament | Don’t lose focus. One slowroll doesn’t define your result. |
In online poker you can not delay showing your cards. So you can not perform the kind of slowroll, where for instance you holdIs slow rolling online possible? I have played only 2 platforms - GG and WPT, but haven't noticed such thing possible.
Or is this topic related strictly to life poker?
OK, thank you. I see it can be technically possible in some situations, but so far I haven't noticed such case.In online poker you can not delay showing your cards. So you can not perform the kind of slowroll, where for instance you holdon
, your opponent show
and say "I have a straight", and then you flip over
saying "I have a T" to make him think, he is winning against 3 of a kind. But then after a break you continue "and another T" showing
for 4 of a kind, which beat his straight.
But assuming, that your opponent jammed the river, and you are closing the action, you could still run down the clock and maybe type something in the chat like "Really??? Ok I call" before finally pressing the "call" button. And that would also be considered a slowroll, since obviously you know, that you are not folding the nuts. So you are just wasting everybodys time to make him think, he might win the hand, while in fact he is 100% sure to lose it.
