It can ruin circulation in your feet/lower legs if you sit up and play in a regular chair for too long.

In serious cases, it can create venous insufficiency - and it can be hard to reverse the damage.

I played for over 24 hours sometimes without taking a break (other than going to the bathroom if necessary) during my time as a semi-professional player online 2003-2013.

Don't make the same mistake.

Take your brakes and move your body at least every 30 minutes.

If you you gamble it can ruin your life entirely. Even though it is a game of skills more than luck for many it is still gambling and they are losing their life money every day.

If a person does not have good financial control, there is a chance of ruining the person's financial life.

Poker can ruin a person's life simply by taking too much time away from being with family. You must know who to divide your time between poker and your other obligations and of course control of your finances, please play responsible.

Like any game that is played for money, poker can get you into some nasty situations if you are not in charge of managing your money properly.

I personally do not think poker itself can ruin a person. Poker is a fun game but sometimes people can take things too far by either spending too much time playing and missing out on life or over spend what they are not willing to loose. Wise words every time i am in the urinals at the casino "play within your limits"

I consider poker can't ruin your life, is a matter of luck and bad choices in order to run really bad, and advice I give is not yo play when your tired or in bad mod.

In poker, Your life can only be ruined if you're taking too much time away from your family and your personnel life and if you play with the money you cant afford.

Yes, of course! If a player frankly can not control his emotions, then he should not play poker. This person can lose a lot of money in poker. And this, indeed, can ruin a person's life. Everything is individual in poker. ;)

I don’t even know how to answer since there is only one association - addiction!!! Of course there are different dependencies!!! For example, spending too much time in the game (regardless of whether you win or not) will thereby lead to a misunderstanding of loved ones who do not need your money but need your communication!!!

poker can only have a bad effect on you in the sense that you spend a lot of time playing poker and can devote little time to your family and friends, so try to spend more time with your family in your free time so that they don't miss your attention. Also, if you spend a lot of money in poker and lose, then this excitement can also lead to bad things. If you hold it all back and don't do it, poker is fun and profitable

When a person loses mental stability and takes wrong actions, such as gambling on their rent, for example.
No addiction brings good lessons, I believe that this is the balance point of the game.

Excessive involvement in poker can lead to financial instability, strained relationships, and addictive behavior, potentially negatively impacting one's overall well-being and quality of life. It's crucial for individuals to maintain a balanced approach to gaming and set responsible limits.

I believe it takes up a lot of time in our day. Depending on the life a person has, it can bring some inconveniences.

The thing that can ruin a person the most is drugs. If your comment is about betting or gambling, you are wrong because many people based on their knowledge and experience can make a profit and make betting a way to work.

Too many ways to list. One is for those married or looking for/hoping to find a good women to marry. Not many good and honest women are willing to put up with a man or women and what comes with everything the poker lifestyle entails and stay very long. Even when you can prove you're a long time winning player and even if you weren't you could afford the stakes you play.

Gambling and poker has been labelled to be played by mostly degenerates and scumbags since forever. Hard to shake and get rid of that kinda label.

Another way that has a big affect. Imagine being young and winning player for 5-10 years and all sudden you can't win for the life of you and get sick poker and decided to try getting a real job or go bust and are forced to try. Could be pretty hard with that 10+ year period of nothing on that resume. And even if you put poker how's that gonna look to an employer? Likely the same as it does to a potential mate. Not great and the longer the period of time the harder it is to explain to potential employers.

Cheers!!!

If you do not use a good banking strategy as recommended by those who know, it could lead you to despair and subsequently ruin your life.

A lot of people talking about how poker can ruin your finances. Yes, that happens when someone has a gambling problem. It's not unique to poker though.

And also poker can act very similarly to a drug. Anything that triggers or affects brain neurotransmitters can have that effect. Playing poker, like with other gambling activities, affects multiple neurotransmitters with dopamine being the most well-known. It can get addictive easily. The activity can change the way the brain works and how a person behaves.

So don't distance poker players too much from drug users. They can be very similar, from best case to worse case.
