I can only play poker when my kids are asleep as my kids mean more to me than any money! Soon as they are asleep I can play! I don't care if the misses don't like it as I don't like the misses lol

I think the effects are both because our relationships are changing away from some people, but creating new ties with those who relate to poker. Personally, poker and its environment came to my life at a critical moment, helping me and serving as support, meeting many new friends.

Best answer from my point of you as well! Poker is a fantastic game but if someone is addicted to it then many more problems may occur! If you have the option to do an activity or go out withsome friends or some coworkers and you prefer play online that may be a bad indication!

Definitely has a negative impact on my social life. When I was married, I spent way too much time with my laptop playing poker in hopes to help support my wife an I. I never did get that big win, and I think it affected our relationship. She never complained too much but I knew she didn't approve.
Now that I'm single (No, not a break up... cancer) I got the poker bug again after about a 5 year break and am playing regularly again. I'm by myself now, so I can spend more time playing and learning, with hopes to finally break through and get that big payoff.
