How can I focus while I am playing poker?

Hi.
When I am playing poker , I try to focus in everything about my game , but suddenly i can´t, I love playing poker ,but sometimes I : Confundido: want to stop and
don´t play nevermore. : Confundido:

Perhaps poker is not for you...Concentrating and Patience are very important if you want to improve. If you are playing online just try not to have any distractions.

This is what has worked for me:

- Make sure when you sit down to play you are comfortably seated in your chair.

- Make sure there are no distractions such as people, animals, skype, browser, television, even music can be a negative for some.

- Eating healthy and being on a good sleep schedule helps. Regular exercise improves the ability to focus too.

- Start out by playing short sessions. Maybe just 30 minutes one day. 30 minutes the next.

- Take an off day at least once a week, but don't be afraid to simply play every other day to start.

- Slowly increase the length of your sessions, though it is healthy to get up every hour or two, walk around, stretch out, stop looking at the computer screen and just refresh a bit.

If you're still having issues with focus, really try to pinpoint the reasons why you're having these issues, bump this thread and maybe we can give some more specific advice.

Maybe you have problem with motivation or maybe you play too much recently and you are a little overtired. You should take a break about 1,2,3 days. Sometimes it helps. Maybe you come back more relaxed and it will give you more focus and more confidence. Otherwise you shouldn’t do things like: reading internet, watching TV or watching youtube etc.

Make a list of goals and what you have to do to reach those goals. A bit part of staying focused is getting the motivation to stay focused. Drink some coffee if you find yourself dozing off.

Coffee - No TV or other noises around you, And take small breaks to relax and regain your focus again.

when this happens to me, I need to be playing for a while without that motivation back, if I do not do it, I end up doing the wrong moves. a tip for me is whenever playing focused and get comfortable.

stop doing something disturbing u.

such as:
TV show
Sports game live broadcast <--think that hurts
Email
Telephone, skype
etc.

if u feel, could not focus, unless u play MTT for the win
just sitting out , quit...LOL

When I was settled in for a long session, I would always have a TV show going in the corner of one of my screens. True story - I ran best to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".

Also, a poker-based skype call was never a bad thing. We would all be playing and talking about poker, as well as random things.

If your playing online maybe a quiet place,or if you like noise try music . It never hurts having a place you play where your comfortable and relaxed cause then the focus comes more easily.

you should probably consider quitting poker if you are not focusing on a tourney or table you are in. it may not be for you then, patience and long hours and focusing are very important at the table,

Try to figure out what the other players at the table are doing.

If you lose concentration in a ring game, quit before the next time it is your turn to pay the big blind.

If you are playing in a tournament, you are stuck
