Watching a James Bond movie once, I was struck by Daniel Craig's answer when asked if there was a luck factor in poker. He replied, "Only for people who believe that the highest hand wins".

If only it were that simple.

To me, there is still 30% luck in this game. At least.

Otherwise, for a 0% chance, you're better off playing chess.

And you, what do you think?

I think that luck is 20% in poker. In my opinion, the most important things are maths, strategy and patience 🙂

Luck is overestimated in the game of poker. People will talk about being unlucky and yes in one moment in time and can be true but long-term luck is not really a big factor in the game. The problem is it could take millions of hands to get past the luck stage.

So, there is some luck in the hand and short-term analysis, but long-term luck is not a factor, but skill come out.

If you remember the term "Distance", then the word "Luck" loses its meaning

In one hand, luck is over 50%, but over many hands I would say luck is only 5%.

I think it's impossible to win a tournament with just luck and it's impossible to win without luck.
Playing well is the difference you make when having your lucky streak

Hello:)
Mastering poker strategies and skills is more important than luck, but sometimes the luck factor has an important influence in order for us to win.

I believe it can vary around 10 to 30%.
But we can also have anomalies that can exceed these values.

I really believe in the player's ability to improve through studies.
But I think people who don't believe in 'luck' are really stupid.

I think so at some point you should count on luck, I'll give an example yours is pair of KK you give mini-reise from the button, the small blind pushes all-in you call the all-in when he raises the cards villain has AA you will need to count on luck in this scenario

"It's better to run with a good hand than to lose with a great hand"

Of course, the luck factor is an integral part of the game of poker. But nevertheless, the real chance of luck increases significantly if an experienced and skillful player plays at the table.

I think the more you know, the less the luck factor will interfere. Just realize that when running millions of mathematical simulations the equities of one range vs another range will be very similar.:);)

I don't think there is a truly defined answer to this. I once read an article, over a period of 1 million hands, the luck factor was around 33%, it went into much more detail, to what is defined as luck. For example, you are behind in a hand after the flop, but you have so many outs, that you are still the favourite & hit your card, can that be classed as luck?

I believe, you sometimes have to make your own luck in the game.

My thoughts it can vary around 10 to 30%.
Poker is a distance game, making positive decisions on it and constantly learning, you can reduce the luck factor to a minimum.

I believe the luck factor is for those who keep pushing all-in a lot, once I played an AA and lost to a 22 who made a set, as he said, it's for those who believe that the highest card wins. Luck is for those, but there are those who play based on solid strategy and don't go by luck.

I think it depends. If you are going only to play one session, maybe lucky is 70% of your results. In the long run I believe is around 15-20%.

What 10 percent or I don't know how many percent. Whatever science you know, if you don't have luck in poker, it's all worthless. If you don't get the right book with all your knowledge, you will be null. How many times have you stayed in a book that didn't come. A heart beats anything. Luck for me is 60 percent.

In online poker, I think luck is more important than skill - 60/40.
