How much money do the poker dealers make?

I do not know the salary level here in mo. But my friends and I tip the dealer pool 10% of our winning.

In the US do people only tip dealers when they win or are they supposed to every time they play somewhere?
If someone has a bad run of cards they ain't gonna want to tip.

10% of the winner is also a fair value I think!

Not from the US, but pretty sure you're only expected to tip when you win.

The tournaments here in NY, we have a dealer bonus buy. So the buy-in is something like $100 + rake ($20) + optional dealer bonus buy ($10). Starting stack is around 7k and the optional dealer bonus buy gets you an additional 500 chips.

Also, most players tip if they win, not really just for cashing, but the winner usually tips something like 3-5%. All tournament tips and dealer bonus buys go into a pool and are distributed by the amount of tournament "downs" you deal.

Grossberger: I don't think it's just Mountaineer's rule, but I believe that WVa State Gaming regulations prohibits dealers from playing at the casinos where they work. I've seen dealers from Wheeling playing at Mountaineer and I believe they said that they couldn't play at Wheeling.

Frankly, I think it's a good rule. It prohibits any possibility of collusion between an on-duty dealer and their fellow dealer who's off work, but playing at their table...ya just can't be too careful with these kinds of things.

Another good thing Ranger is as a dealer you don't want to play against those who may be tipping you later. If you put a bad beat on them or just constantly beat them because they are poor players, you may not get tipped later. And that can cost you alot more down the road than the little bit you can win off of them if they are a regular or happen to win a tournament or badbeat jackpot.

their is actually a poker school and poker training at the casino i go to my friends work and they get $!5 an hour Canadian and their training gets paid for but i think they can make a lot more

Depends on the casino.

I have a friend that works as a dealer and he told me his hourly rate is crap but the tips is where he makes his money (NEWSFLASH RIGHT? lol)

I wouldnt mind doing the job, you see more hands and get to sit in on some interesting games.

I personally avg 32-35 hands per hr. Get paid min wage wich is an awesome 9/hr now. Tournament downs which is every half hr we get 7.26$ a half hour. So if I only dealt tournaments which would suck... you would avg 24.52$ /hr. The great thing is throw cash games in there and every check I avg between 32$/hr on the low end and some checks ive avg 45$/hr. I was a walk on to dealing poker because I was a true grinder before dealing. This is RARE. Usually u have to go threw the unpaid casinos classes which is 3-4weeks of 30-40hrs per week. Then PASS the audition. So I hope that was some usefull info. .. dont get discouraged if not EVERYONE tips. They arent mandatory! !!

Min wage plus tips. Cant be a comfy living.

well depeand if they have procent of rake,if they have they are good but I know some friends who are dealers,and have bad salary.....

Dear MinnesotaKid23 I think your math is not correct. You say if U dealt tourney it would be $7.26 every 1/2 hour so wouldn't it be $14.52 per hour & not $24.52 as U state? How is making $24.52 an hour constitute as sucking? Do you keep your own tips in cash games? You must be dealing NL if U avg. over 30 hands an hour

I always tip 10% of my tourney winning. If I do not make the money 30% of the buy In.

I have worked in the underground card rooms in New York City for many years. I'm in the process of saving up money to move to Las Vegas to start my career in the gaming industry and work for a casino full time in the poker room.

I have friends who are dealers in the casinos. I have never worked in a casino, just underground card rooms (even though I am casino trained). The underground poker rooms pay A LOT more money than the casinos do. You make a TON more money. But, as I said, I would like to start a career and that's why I'm moving to Las Vegas.

I have also been featured on TV dealing poker.

Either a lot or very little depending on where they work, when they work, what games they work, etc.

I manage a few rooms in Michigan, and also deal at the wsop in Vegas every summer.

My dealers here (now we are just a poker room not the casino) make 3.25 / hour plus tips. Average take is about $20/hour.

In Vegas for the WSOP we make $8.50/hour plus tips. In 2015 I made aprox $15k in 7 1/2 weeks of dealing here. It is a lot of work and to deal WSOP you must know how to deal 20 different games.

In Florida, the dealers do make a good amount. I know a bunch of dealers around the Tampa area and they take about $40 - $50 thousand a year, and if you work at Tampa Downs you get benefits as well.

NOW, there are a few things to consider.

1. Women make more than men - mostly because poker players are degenerate pervs. Good looking women make WAY more. At WSOP an attractive female dealer, if she is a good dealer, will make about $15 - $20 k in 7 1/2 weeks. Also know a really attractive woman at Tampa Downs in Florida who makes on average $70k a year (at 30 hours a week!)

2. The better you are the more you make, guaranteed. Especially for cash dealers where you get tipped every hand. Obviously the more hands you can deal per 'down' the more tips you will get. Efficiency and speed are a really difficult thing for a dealer to achieve right out of the gate, so you have to be patient and pay your dues. You will get better with time.

If anyone wants any information about dealing anywhere in the USA just ask, I am familiar with dealing all across the country and know professional dealers in almost every state. Plus I teach people to deal in Michigan so if you want to know anything again just ask.

I would say the average for a decent dealer in the USA is going to be roughly $20-$25 / hour for men and about $25 - $45 / hour for women.

I know that most casinos do not pool their tips but there are a handful that do. These places can have some different dealer experiences since there is no incentive for a dealer to either be fast or give better service than then next dealer.

i don't know how much they make but if they pay good dealing at poker tourneys. i would do that for a part time job.

i would love to do poker dealing. cos you also can learn so much just watching their play evey single day. but the places i ll be , it s not possible. no casino whatsever.

Anyway , i know in usa they tip dealers. what about other countries ? in what other countries dealder can accept tips. i know in australia you cant.

FWIW, when you're dealing poker you're focussed on dealing.

If you want to become a better poker player, you do that by actually playing the game. Reminding the drunk guy in the three-seat that he needs to post his blinds over and over again won't make you a better player.

Dealers get sufficiently . On the tournaments of EPT about 5-10 dollars. So that profession good enough.

Dealers in my country gets about 300$/mounth And its a good salary

I think you missed my point. i dont know if you know , many top players used to be dealers themselves before . you will hear from wsop stories , mayn delears win circuit rings and go to ft also in wsop events..
